As they practice 'chunking' and blending new words, they are becoming better spellers and readers. These skills are foundational skills needed for students at this level of learning. Students have also worked with our awesome new magnetic manipulatives set to help us get a better grasp on place value with numbers to 10,000. They now have opportunities to build with the base ten magnetic pieces to help them with a conceptual understanding of regrouping, your kindness has impacted our classroom significantly, giving students opportunities they haven't had during the first half of our academic year together.
