During our literacy block, students choose seating that helps them focus best while working in small groups or independently. One memorable moment was during writing workshop when several students who typically struggle to stay engaged were able to remain focused for the entire lesson while using wobble stools and floor seats. It was exciting to see them take ownership of their learning in a way that felt comfortable and empowering.\r\n\r\nWhen students first walked in and saw the new seating options, their faces lit up with excitement. They were eager to try each option and took the responsibility of using the materials appropriately very seriously. After the initial excitement, they quickly settled into routines and began making thoughtful choices about where they learn best.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue using the seating during collaborative projects, including our upcoming opinion writing unit and small-group reading work. The next step is helping students reflect on how their seating choices affect their focus and productivity so they can become even more independent learners. Thanks to your generosity, our classroom is not only more flexible, but also a place where students feel comfortable, motivated, and ready to learn every day.","fullyFundedDate":1765375987552,"projectUrl":"project/seats-for-success-in-second-grade/9660309/","projectTitle":"Seats for Success in Second Grade!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Beasley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3205443"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_47698","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":685,"numTeachers":46,"percentFrplEligible":70,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":78,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 2","studentTeacherRatio":"14.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":68.7,"schoolId":47698,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Banks County Primary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Banks County Primary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/banks-county-school-district/banks-co-primary-school/47698"}
