The moment the materials arrived, my students were eager to explore—sorting letters, building structures, and using the manipulatives to act out stories and practice new skills. These resources are helping them stay engaged during small-group instruction, especially my students who need movement and tactile learning to stay focused.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful changes has been how confidently students participate during literacy centers. They enjoy using the building materials to \"build\" vocabulary words and retell stories, and the play-based tools have quickly become their favorite way to practice phonics and fine-motor skills. These materials also support my students with disabilities by offering visual, hands-on ways to understand concepts that are otherwise difficult to grasp.\r\n\r\nAs we move through the year, these resources will continue to strengthen early reading, language development, and cooperative play. Your donation didn't just provide materials—it gave my students joyful, purposeful learning opportunities every single day. Thank you for helping make their growth possible.","fullyFundedDate":1755724197663,"projectUrl":"project/read-play-build-success-for-our-small/9570063/","projectTitle":"Read, Play, Build: Success for Our Small Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gleason","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9210056_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y386&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746735984184","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-gleason3"},{"teacherId":9210056,"projectId":9335928,"letterContent":"Thanks to your support, our classroom is cleaner, healthier, and running more smoothly every day. I have one \"super cleaner\" who proudly wipes down all the tables after every math session, and another student who absolutely loves using the carpet sweeper—so much that it has become a better calming tool for her than our actual calming corner.\r\n\r\nThese supplies have helped us build simple, consistent routines that keep germs down, create a calmer environment, and help students feel responsible for their shared space. The new rug immediately became the heart of our learning space. The moment students walked in and saw it, they gasped and rushed over to find \"their spot.\" One student said, \"It looks like a real classroom now!\" Another kept rubbing the rug and telling everyone how \"soft and cozy\" it felt. It has already become our gathering place for morning meetings, read-alouds, and small-group lessons.\r\n\r\nWe've also started using the composition notebooks and glue sticks during our writing block. Students are creating personal journals where they respond to read-alouds, practice handwriting, and document their learning. The laminating pouches are helping us preserve visual schedules, center directions, and hands-on task cards—resources that my young learners use daily and often need to last all year long.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments so far happened during our first whole-group lesson on the rug: my students sat down quietly, crossed their legs, and said, \"We're ready, Ms. Gleason!\" It was the calmest, most focused start we've had all year, and it set the tone for a beautiful day of learning.","fullyFundedDate":1754416644923,"projectUrl":"project/a-rug-to-gather-supplies-to-grow/9336243/","projectTitle":"A Rug to Gather, Supplies to Grow","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gleason","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9210056_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y386&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746735984184","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-gleason3"},{"teacherId":9210056,"projectId":9273973,"letterContent":"When our new supplies arrived, my students' eyes lit up with excitement! One of my favorite moments was seeing a student proudly flip through her journal to show how many pages she had already filled — a small but powerful sign of ownership and confidence.\r\n\r\nThe laminator has quickly become a classroom favorite tool for teachers and students alike. We've already created reusable sight word cards and math games that students can use in small groups and stations. The headphones have also made a huge difference by giving students the quiet focus they need to succeed during online learning time. Together, these resources have helped create an environment where students can stay engaged, organized, and supported every step of the way.\r\n\r\nNext, we will be using the magnetic tiles for STEM projects that encourage teamwork and problem-solving. Students are excited to use these new materials to build, design, and share their creations. These resources will continue to support not only academics, but also creativity, independence, and collaboration in our classroom.
