Because of your contribution, we were able to purchase a laminator kit, wireless keyboard and mouse, swivel tablet stand, electric hole punch, cardstock, and heavy-duty multipurpose folders. These tools have already made a remarkable difference in helping me create structured, high-quality materials that my students can use every single day.\r\n\r\nThe laminator and laminating pouches have been game-changing. I've used them to create durable flashcard decks for vocabulary review, printed on cardstock and clipped with binder rings so students can easily flip, study, and reuse them. These laminated sets are especially helpful for my SWDs and ESOL learners, who benefit from reusable visuals and hands-on study tools. The cardstock also allows me to print clear, sturdy anchor charts, pathway-specific references, and individualized learning tools that won't bend or tear. The folders and hole punch have helped us keep everything organized, from student packets to pathway binders, while the wireless keyboard, mouse, and tablet stand have made planning and resource creation smoother, faster, and much more efficient.\r\n\r\nYour generosity directly supports my ability to create accessible, engaging, and long-lasting materials for all 57 of my students. Thanks to your donation, I was able to receive a brand-new touchscreen laptop, and it has already transformed the way I work and support my students. Your contribution has truly made my day-to-day responsibilities smoother, faster, and more efficient.\r\n\r\nWith this device, I've been able to create detailed, student-friendly resources for all 57 students across 13 Career Pathways—including full word walls that they now rely on daily. Meetings, lesson planning, and collaboration have also become much easier. The larger screen, modern capabilities, and touchscreen features have sped up the execution of every project I take on. What once took hours, I can now complete much more quickly, allowing me to spend more time focusing on individual student needs and building higher-quality materials.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in my classroom and investing in my students. The supplies have made our Instructional Conversations packets more durable and organized. More importantly, student engagement is high when they are deliberating topics germane to the trades. Academic language is no longer studied in isolation but through thoughtful interactions, which more closely mimic workplace conversations. \r\n\r\nOur school has also promoted a Professional Learning series for teachers called \"Fast and Formative,\" which offers tips on low-prep formative assessments. The Critical Thinking\r\nSkills posters purchased with donor funds also support conversation in the classroom. We have devised a game using the dice and the questions.\r\n\r\nFinally, the conversation cards are helpful for helping students learn small talk using high frequency words. They tie beautifully into our employability skills curriculum.\r\n\r\nI am so appreciative of the supplies to bring this project to fruition.","fullyFundedDate":1746854411326,"projectUrl":"project/talking-for-the-trades-instructional-co/9095839/","projectTitle":"Talking for the Trades: Instructional Conversations for Future Career Success","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Ploetz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8698001_orig.png?crop=1080,1080,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739934624716","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8698001"},{"teacherId":7142008,"projectId":8991581,"letterContent":"Your generous donation has truly transformed our classroom and brought so much excitement to the CTAE Healthcare Pathway! With the new resources, my students are engaging in hands-on learning experiences that bring their lessons to life. For example, we recently used the equipment to practice patient care scenarios, allowing students to apply their skills in real-world contexts.\r\n\r\nI'll never forget their reactions when they first saw the materials—eyes wide with excitement and curiosity. One student said, \"This makes me feel like a real healthcare professional!\" That moment reminded me of how impactful your support is in inspiring their confidence and career aspirations.\r\n\r\nCurrently, my students are working on mastering patient workups and practicing vital sign assessments. The next step will be integrating these skills into simulated patient scenarios, where they'll demonstrate critical thinking and teamwork. Additionally, this project has helped prepare my students for an exciting 9-week internship at Grady Health, where they will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a clinical environment, gain professional experience, and work alongside healthcare teams.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your incredible support.
