This year I am departmentalized and only teach science, social studies, and writing. The books I had chosen were all non-fiction to help with some of the content I am teaching. The students have enjoyed having a variety of books to choose from.\r\n My students have used some of the non-fiction books for reading enjoyment. I have a few students that really love learning non-fiction, so they pick these books a lot! I have used these books to enhance student projects as well. I have used some of the biography books to help with Hispanic Heritage month for students to choose a person to write an essay about and present to the class. I will also be using some for our Black History research and writing project too! \r\n Not only did I choose biography type books, but also science books from National Geographic and The Who Will Win battle books. Several of my students also like animals, so reading The Who Will Win battle books are interesting to them. The National Geographic books cover several JJscience topics which help with teaching rocks, space, animals, and other science topics!\r\n I am so thankful for your generosity with bringing more books into my classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1758479016331,"projectUrl":"project/curious-minds-read-non-fiction-books/9391250/","projectTitle":"Curious Minds Read Non-fiction Books!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Chase","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9302683_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755371254404","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9302683"},{"teacherId":9302683,"projectId":9391297,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the organization materials and a few of the Florida Orange Blossom books for my students to begin reading. So far, I have set up the organization trays by color for each of my 3 classes. They have a slot for science, social studies, writing, and miscellaneous work to turn in. Each class set is a different color to help them remember which trays to turn this work into. This has helped to keep work organized by class and subject. \r\n I also received some book bins. Three of these book bins are being utilized for books that students can read that relate to science and social studies; non-fiction books. I have some other book bins that I have organized books by chapter books or fun fiction stories that they enjoy reading for pleasure. The other 3 bins are being used to house legos for interactive play during inside recess and also for some science tasks. This has helped limit the paper boxes that tend to get ruined throughout the year! The students love to grab a bin and explore what they can create from their imaginations through legos!\r\n I really appreciate your generosity to help my students and myself keep our classroom and materials organized!","fullyFundedDate":1750443924518,"projectUrl":"project/organized-chaos/9391297/","projectTitle":"Organized Chaos!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Chase","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9302683_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755371254404","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9302683"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_55552","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":730,"numTeachers":54,"percentFrplEligible":93,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":41,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":41,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":54.8,"schoolId":55552,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Timbercrest Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Timbercrest Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/volusia-county-schools/timbercrest-elementary-school/55552"}
