Your contributions have had a meaningful impact on both the organization and functionality of our learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe items you provided have helped create a space that is not only well-organized but also more accessible for every student. After some initial trial and error, we've developed a system that works beautifully for our class. Each student now has an individual \"locker\" to store their folders and notebooks for each subject. Our color-coded system makes it easy for students to quickly find what they need for their morning and afternoon classes.\r\n\r\nThe new mailbox system has streamlined communication, allowing me to return papers and distribute important information efficiently. In addition, the storage boxes have made it possible to neatly organize classroom supplies, keeping materials within reach whenever they're needed.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has created a more positive, productive environment for learning. The students take great pride in their space, and it has helped foster independence and responsibility in their routines.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting our classroom and for investing in our students' success. Your kindness and commitment to education make a lasting difference.","fullyFundedDate":1754392655521,"projectUrl":"project/organizing-our-classroom-for-success/9454363/","projectTitle":"Organizing Our Classroom for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Betau","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9572365_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721584612234","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9572365"},{"teacherId":9572365,"projectId":8510202,"letterContent":"Thank so much for your generous donation. Our class started the school year studying biology. We started with the human body followed by the structures and life cycles of plants and animals. The students were able to observe complete metamorphosis with the ladybugs. They were also able to exam the ladybugs and see that even the tiniest of creatures have structures that help them to survive in their environment. Unfortunately we did not receive the silkworms while completing our biology units. They will arrive after the new year. \r\n The students enjoyed watching the ladybugs but they loved watching the plants grow. We grew different varieties of herbs. The students were so curious to see how they would grow inside and without soil. The came into class every morning looking for seedlings. Once they started to grow the students were able to examine the parts of their plants and observe how they grew towards the light. The plants grew sideways during the week when the classroom lights were on but when they arrived on Monday the plants were standing straight again towards the lamps. I got such a chuckle every Monday when they seemed surprised that it happened again. \r\n Once the herbs grew well beyond the hydroponic lamps we removed them and hung them to dry. This became an opportunity to go outside our usual studies and learn about edible plants and how herbs and spices are used. This also happened to be the week before our Thanksgiving break which lead to conversations with the social studies teacher on how the Native Americans and pilgrims used herbs. To top it all off, the herbs were finally ready this week. So today students prepped the herbs, measured and mixed them, and created mixes for dips. Our little herb garden became holiday gifts for the students' families. \r\n Since the class loved the hydroponic garden so much they want to do it again. Your donation provided so many seeds we will be able to start again when we return from winter break.","fullyFundedDate":1723666532115,"projectUrl":"project/bring-biology-to-life/8510202/","projectTitle":"Bring Biology to Life!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Betau","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9572365_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721584612234","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9572365"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_67504","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":328,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":1,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":39,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":47,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":68.8,"schoolId":67504,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Reading Edge Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Reading Edge Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/volusia-county-schools/reading-edge-academy/67504"}
