Using some simple of the donated materials, students worked together to design and build rockets, then competed to see which rocket could travel the farthest. It allowed me to create a memorable, hands-on learning experience that brought excitement and imagination into our classroom. They came dressed in pirate hats, eyepatches, and used their telescopes to explore different activities, which made learning feel like a real adventure.\r\n\r\nThrough this project, my students were able to connect academic concepts with fun, interactive experiences. We even conducted science experiments using the eyepatches, encouraging curiosity and critical thinking in a playful way. The day promoted creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving, while also strengthening classroom community. The kids absolutely loved walking into our classroom that was decorated like a campground, with a real tent set up right in the middle of the classroom, a campfire to make smores and a river to go fishing. They couldn't wait to sit inside the tent with their flashlights to read books about camping. Each student loved wearing all their fun camp gear including backpacks, binoculars, bracelets and stickers.\r\n\r\nTheir favorite part of camp day was making smore's on our little campfire. The yummy chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers were delicious and of course all over our faces. I couldn't have made this day any more memorable without your help. We played hopscotch, glow bowling with subtraction and made glow name bracelets for some of our fun activities. They couldn't wait to see what was inside. After we had our drum roll, they were jumping for joy when we opened it up to find our very own popcorn machine with a stand, popcorn bags, popcorn kernels, an industrial sized cotton candy machine and all the different flavored sugars. They immediately asked if we could build it and make some.\r\nOur students got to celebrate by having a sweet and/or salty treat for knowing all their math facts for this quarter. We are so proud of all their hard work and dedication and can't wait for future celebrations!\r\nWe currently have a fundraising event set up for this month to help us raise money for our upcoming field trips and a PBIS celebration for our student's positive behavior.
