There is NO fighting over the iPads and there's usually always one available for student use. The programs we use: Lexia Core, Dream Box Math, XtraMath, and AR, are much more fun when done on an iPad.\r\n I am down to only three barely-working computers in my classroom and these iPads are a life saver! I was able to get some things for the students to enjoy and some supplies that help me out as well.\r\n For the first time, I got caterpillars and we watched them turn into butterflies and released them. The students were so excited during the entire process!\r\n I also got some games called shut the box. Now the whole class can play at once. They LOVE this game and beg to play. They especially loved the pictures to help with their drawings! They learned so much from these books and have an appreciation for taking care of their environment and protecting the sea turtles. Several students asked about being part of the Sea Turtle Patrol and want to help mark the nests and maybe even see them hatch and make their run for the ocean.\r\n We have started reading Stranded by Jeff Probst, and they were hooked from the first chapter! It's wonderful to have such an engaging book at this time of the year when summer is just around the corner. \r\n Thanks so much for your contribution to help bring this experience to my students! As I read aloud, students were able to follow along with a story on their own at their desk. After each chapter, we discussed the events that took place and tried to guess what would happen in the next chapter. My students thoroughly enjoyed having their own copy of the book to follow along with me. Some students who are not able to read chapter books on their own, were absolutely thrilled to be able to hold a large book like the story we are reading and be part of the group. The students love the story because some were familiar with the movie. We compared and contrasted the movie to the book and noted differences.
