Class participation has increased considerably now that we have better use of technology.\r\n\r\nThe snacks serve as a great reward for our students in the PBIS token economy. Because they're such a valuable resource, students treat them like gold—each student must temporarily exchange an item, such as a phone, shoe, or backpack, when borrowing one to ensure they are always returned safely.\r\n\r\nWhile students now have access to these crucial tools, I also continue to emphasize the importance of mental math and problem-solving without calculators. The fluorescent light covers and air purifier made the room noticeably calmer and cleaner—several students said the charts were \"easier to follow,\" and a few who benefit from PBIS fidget tools were able to focus longer during work time.\r\n\r\nNext, we're building a visible \"library\" of anchor charts for each unit and doing weekly binder checks to keep organization habits strong. Students will use the markers and pads to create peer-teaching posters on the distributive property, then tab the most helpful examples to reference during DeltaMath and quizzes.
