In ELA, we practiced spelling patterns and how to write a complete sentence.\r\n\r\nYour donation helps by supporting my students directly, eases the financial burden on families and reduces my spending. With 19 energetic learners, this cozy and colorful space has already become the heart of our classroom. We gather here for morning meetings, read alouds, and whole and small group lessons for all subjects. I can see how much of an impact it has made on my students already. They are more focused and comfortable knowing they have their own dedicated space. Your gift has turned a simple idea into a more welcoming environment that truly supports their learning and our class family. \r\n\r\nMy class counted down the days for the rugs arrival because they were so excited for that space. When it arrived they came into the classroom that morning cheering! Because of your kindness, our class now has a special place that encourages collaboration, curiosity, and joy. Each time we come together at our rug, I am reminded that we're part of something bigger- a community that values children and their education. With the addition of speech-to-text headphones, students who once struggled to complete written assignments are now finishing their work alongside their peers, showing their true abilities without the barrier of handwriting challenges. Noise-reducing headphones have empowered students to stay calm in busy environments and maintain focus, while others use music through headphones to direct their attention to tasks with greater success. Even small supports like chewy erasers, gum, or hard candy have made a big difference in providing students with safe, appropriate ways to self-regulate, leading to increased participation and confidence throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nThese resources also encourage students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade to better understand and advocate for their own sensory needs. For example, students using wobble feet are able to channel extra energy into movement, allowing them to remain seated and engaged in learning, while others are learning to recognize when they need tools like headphones or a sensory chew to help them focus. Having these materials readily available has not only improved academic outcomes but also built a more inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students feel successful. Your donation has had a lasting impact on their ability to learn, regulate, and grow in ways that will continue far beyond this school year.","fullyFundedDate":1742964629676,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-supports-for-occupational-therap/9103967/","projectTitle":"Sensory Supports for Occupational Therapy Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ward","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9918960"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_47136","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":901,"numTeachers":61,"percentFrplEligible":35,"percentAsian":46,"percentBlack":18,"percentWhite":15,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":77.6,"schoolId":47136,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Goldsboro Elementary Magnet School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Goldsboro Elementary Magnet School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/seminole-county-public-schools/goldsboro-elementary-magnet-school/47136"}
