The arrival of these full-sized multipurpose sketchbooks has sparked a level of energy in my Advanced Illustration and Painting class that is truly inspiring to witness.\r\nWhen the boxes were opened, my students were initially thrilled just to have high-quality paper for their studio work. However, the moment I told them these weren't just for the classroom—that they were theirs to keep, take home, and fill with their personal visions—the room fell silent in collective shock.\r\nIn an era where many students feel their creative process is confined to school hours, the ability to take these books home to share their drafts, masterpieces, and every developmental step with their parents and guardians is a game-changer. You haven't just provided paper and binding; you've provided a bridge between their academic growth and their home lives, allowing them to showcase their artistic endeavors to the people who matter most.\r\nBecause of you, these young artists now have a dedicated space to house their evolution. We are so grateful for your belief in the importance of art education and for giving these students the tools to be artists 24/7.","fullyFundedDate":1766602949147,"projectUrl":"project/sketch-books-for-all/9672209/","projectTitle":"Sketch Books for All!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Ackerman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9831363_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756761117763","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/isnmart"},{"teacherId":9885580,"projectId":9024982,"letterContent":"This years history fair was a massive success thanks to you! The addition of graphic novels, picture books, nonfiction texts, and beloved series like Diary of a Wimpy Kid has created new opportunities for students to build reading stamina, engage in meaningful conversations about character and theme, and explore texts that reflect both their own lives and the lives of others. These new books are helping students develop important literacy skills like inference, perspective-taking, and text structure—all through stories they choose to read.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom happens everywhere: curled up on beanbags during independent reading, side-by-side in partner book talks, or during quiet morning arrival when students sneak in a few extra pages before the bell. Some students have taken on the role of \"book recommenders,\" creating informal mini-reviews to post on our shelves. One of my reluctant readers, who never finished a book last year, has now read four graphic novels and is currently working his way through Dog Man. Another student who speaks English as a second language gravitated toward bilingual picture books and nonfiction with strong visual supports—and now confidently reads aloud to classmates.\r\n\r\nYour gift has done more than fill a bookshelf. It's ignited curiosity, built community, and empowered students to see themselves as readers. Thank you for helping create a library that mirrors the diverse, dynamic kids who use it every day.","fullyFundedDate":1742950306707,"projectUrl":"project/mr-websters-library-of-diversity-and-d/9045482/","projectTitle":"Mr. Webster’s Library of Diversity and Discovery","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Webster","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9890795"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_94705","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":853,"numTeachers":47,"percentFrplEligible":57,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":17,"percentWhite":42,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"18.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":67.9,"schoolId":94705,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Imagine School at North Manatee on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Imagine School at North Manatee","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/school-district-of-manatee-county/imagine-charter-school-n-manatee/94705"}
