I teach in a Title I school, meaning many of my students are from low-income families. Many of these families have a hard time putting food on the table, so school supplies take a back seat.\r\n\r\nAs many teachers, I use my own money for many of the supplies in the classroom for students that cannot afford the supplies. I do not mind buying the items but a large order like this takes the load off of the teacher so that I can teach instead of having to worry about whether my students all have the head phones they need. Even in Kindergarten, we use the computer for Math and Reading programs that will help each student succeed in their learning. We use the headphones daily. This level of organization has reduced clutter, minimized distractions, and helped students feel more in control of their environment. Most of our students have been here since Kindergarten, so they have read all of their beloved book series. I had to figure out a way to engage the interest of mostly 2nd through 5th grade students in reading more so, that's where you, the donors come in to play. I knew that if I could order all or most all of the new Graphic novels series and the other series of the most popular novels that have be released in the last few years, I could increase their reading engagement, reading ability, and these books will continue to help my students read more, grow stronger, and continue to love the joy of reading. Seeing the excitement in their eyes when they came in for the first time and started searching the library to find their books just made me blessed to have such an incredible community of donors. Working to help engage the reading of our future community and in our classrooms is the key to greatness in each child. Reading and being able to develop a interest in the books the kids enjoy make strong connections inside and outside of the library and classroom. Kids are able to go back into the classroom and write summaries about what they read and earn prizes, furthermore emphasizing their learning in reading.","fullyFundedDate":1737747670392,"projectUrl":"project/give-students-the-newest-volume-of-their/9047001/","projectTitle":"Give Students The Newest Volume of Their Beloved Book Series","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Richardson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8102738_orig.jpg?crop=860,860,x82,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1662134427719","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/vicki-richardson"},{"teacherId":9883095,"projectId":9071486,"letterContent":"I would like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for your generous support with the materials and snacks we have received.
