While many of our donors are familiar with using headphones at home, their role in the classroom is uniquely powerful. My students can now engage in individualized literacy and math programs without distraction. The headphones help my young learners focus, listen closely to letter sounds, follow digital read-alouds, and practice skills at their own pace. This simple tool has greatly improved attention, comprehension, and the overall quality of our technology-based lessons.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most about the new headphones is the sense of independence they bring. My kindergarteners love choosing their learning program, putting on their headphones, and immersing themselves in activities that feel personal and interactive. The clear audio makes phonics lessons more meaningful, especially when practicing tricky sound combinations, and students stay engaged longer because they can fully hear and follow along.\r\n\r\nCertain students have especially warmed to having their own headphones. My English language learners, in particular, benefit from hearing modeled language clearly without background noise, which has boosted their confidence and participation. Some of my more easily distracted learners stay focused for longer periods, showing noticeable improvement in their reading and listening skills. Watching these students grow because of something as simple as a good pair of headphones has truly been one of the highlights of this project.","fullyFundedDate":1746546375981,"projectUrl":"project/helping-students-focus-with-headphones/9297752/","projectTitle":"Helping Students Focus With Headphones","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gethmann","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6935569_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748970263701","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6935569"},{"teacherId":8401412,"projectId":8995077,"letterContent":"Thank you for your valuable contributions to the project.
