The resources are being used during center time and small group time. The students are so focused when they are working on their own or with their peers. I love to see how they work together with their peers and how they support each other during the activities. \r\n\r\nWhen the students saw the materials, they were very excited and wanted to use them right then and there. They have been using the materials during centers, working independently and with their peers.\r\n\r\nWe are preparing for the state test that is schedule for the month of April, and the resources were focused on the areas that the students scored low in. I know that when it is time for my students to take their state test they will be prepared for the math and will have more confidence because they have had the opportunity to work on some of those skills and improve on those skills. I would like to thank the donors that supported my project and made learning fun for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1765836659731,"projectUrl":"project/you-light-up-my-centers/9611089/","projectTitle":"You Light Up My Centers!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Williams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10173686_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755554230136","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/lavetta-williams"},{"teacherId":6935569,"projectId":9297752,"letterContent":"The addition of headphones has made a remarkable difference in how my kindergarteners learn each day. While many of our donors are familiar with using headphones at home, their role in the classroom is uniquely powerful. My students can now engage in individualized literacy and math programs without distraction. The headphones help my young learners focus, listen closely to letter sounds, follow digital read-alouds, and practice skills at their own pace. This simple tool has greatly improved attention, comprehension, and the overall quality of our technology-based lessons.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most about the new headphones is the sense of independence they bring. My kindergarteners love choosing their learning program, putting on their headphones, and immersing themselves in activities that feel personal and interactive. The clear audio makes phonics lessons more meaningful, especially when practicing tricky sound combinations, and students stay engaged longer because they can fully hear and follow along.\r\n\r\nCertain students have especially warmed to having their own headphones. My English language learners, in particular, benefit from hearing modeled language clearly without background noise, which has boosted their confidence and participation. Some of my more easily distracted learners stay focused for longer periods, showing noticeable improvement in their reading and listening skills. Watching these students grow because of something as simple as a good pair of headphones has truly been one of the highlights of this project.","fullyFundedDate":1746546375981,"projectUrl":"project/helping-students-focus-with-headphones/9297752/","projectTitle":"Helping Students Focus With Headphones","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gethmann","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6935569_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748970263701","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6935569"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46999","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":462,"numTeachers":42,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":35,"percentWhite":17,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":42,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":44.2,"schoolId":46999,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Janie Howard Wilson Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Janie Howard Wilson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/polk-county-school-district/janie-howard-wilson-elementary-school/46999"}
