It was a mild weathered break and we did not need jackets. Wouldn't you know that this morning in Central Florida it was in the 50's? We have already given out a handful of jackets this morning! \r\n\r\nOur amazing school nurse and guidance counselor are partnering with me to help distribute the hoodies to the most in need students.\r\n\r\nChildren should not have to be cold at school. The laminating pouches were the most urgently needed, as I create labs and experiences for 6 days of use. It helps to make them more durable so that all the students get a nice experience with things not falling apart! For example, fifth grade did a fossil dig simulation where I hid paper bones in sand and they had to use tools and brushes to uncover them. If they were paper with out lamination, I would have had to make so many more versions because the tools would probably rip the bones.\r\n\r\nThis year will be an adventure but now I am more confident that it will be a fun adventure!\r\n\r\nThanks again for everything!","fullyFundedDate":1756691794933,"projectUrl":"project/science-lab-supplies-support-3rd-4th-a/9612262/","projectTitle":"Science Lab Supplies Support 3rd, 4th, and 5th!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jessica Brown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1228220_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1448750977336","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jessicabrown0601"},{"teacherId":1228220,"projectId":9082947,"letterContent":"As a science and stem teacher, we are always looking for opportunities for our students to solve problems and he turned those into learning moments. Through this project, not only where we able to start a fundraiser to help sustain our program, but we were also able to solve a problem for our students at the same time. All students in elementary school in our district are required to wear an ID badge while at school. Many of our children had never had to wear one prior to this year and many of our students are struggling to keep them from breaking or keeping track of them. So the first thing I decided to create and sell for a fundraiser our badge holders. These are designed to help prevent the plastic of the badge from breaking. Another big issue is them losing them as the badge snaps off of the key ring they're holding. I'm in the process of writing the paperwork to have it be a school approved fundraiser, but I know that students are gonna be so excited to get these.","fullyFundedDate":1739594716900,"projectUrl":"project/filament-for-bringing-3d-projects-to-lif/9082947/","projectTitle":"Filament For Bringing 3D Projects To Life","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jessica Brown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1228220_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1448750977336","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jessicabrown0601"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_47010","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":817,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":40,"percentWhite":17,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":39,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"18.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":76.4,"schoolId":47010,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Fred G Garner Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Fred G Garner Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/polk-county-school-district/fred-g-garner-elementary-school/47010"}
