The laminating pouches were the most urgently needed, as I create labs and experiences for 6 days of use. It helps to make them more durable so that all the students get a nice experience with things not falling apart! For example, fifth grade did a fossil dig simulation where I hid paper bones in sand and they had to use tools and brushes to uncover them. Through this project, not only where we able to start a fundraiser to help sustain our program, but we were also able to solve a problem for our students at the same time. All students in elementary school in our district are required to wear an ID badge while at school. Many of our children had never had to wear one prior to this year and many of our students are struggling to keep them from breaking or keeping track of them. So the first thing I decided to create and sell for a fundraiser our badge holders. These are designed to help prevent the plastic of the badge from breaking. Another big issue is them losing them as the badge snaps off of the key ring they're holding. We have received the materials for the care packs and I have already begun putting them together and passing them out to students! As we all know if you look good, you feel better. Our appearance is important.\r\n\r\nEvery student deserves to come to school feeling and looking good, this project helps do that for some of our kiddos.\r\n\r\nThis project will limit the reasons that some students can get picked on by other students due to not having a brush, or having that back up deodorant to put on.
