Their excitement and curiosity were wonderful to see!\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite classroom projects has been exploring water at the sensory table. The children pour, scoop, fill containers, use funnels, and made predictions about what will float or sink. Through this play, they are building fine motor, language, social, problem-solving, and early science skills. They also enjoy using the large bubble wands. Chasing bubbles and trying to create their own encourages movement, patience, persistence, and cooperation.\r\n\r\nAs part of our upcoming ocean module, we look forward to using the ocean sensory box to explore textures, ocean animals, habitats, and imaginative play. Our little PreK 3 learners love to explore, and we are excited to continue providing them with meaningful hands-on experiences.\r\n\r\nOur next project is to add another sensory table to our classroom. Having two tables would allow us to offer sand or another solid material in one table while keeping water in the other. The students use them during free play to dig, scoop, pour, build, and experiment with the sand. One of our favorite moments was watching the students work together to create \"sand cakes\" and use different tools to decide which ones would hold their shape best. They were excited to share their ideas, problem-solve together, and proudly show off their creations. When the materials first arrived, the students were immediately excited and couldn't wait to get outside and explore everything. Their enthusiasm made it clear how meaningful these resources would be for our classroom.\r\n\r\nAs we continue using the sandbox, we are encouraging students to explore concepts such as measurement, counting, shapes, textures, and cause and effect through hands-on play. Our next steps are to challenge students to work together to design and build different structures, compare the amounts of sand they use, and make predictions about what will happen when they add water or change their building methods. These materials are giving our students a fun, engaging way to learn through play while also building communication, cooperation, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Because of your kindness, I was able to assemble individual sensory baskets and resource kits for five ASD classrooms — a total of 32 students now have tools that help them feel safe, focused, and ready to learn. Seeing the teachers' faces light up when the materials arrived was priceless; they told me these baskets finally give students what they need to calm, self‑regulate, and participate. The calm‑down corners are now beautifully stocked and in regular use, and small moments of stress are being replaced with steady breathing, quiet reading, and real learning. Your gift didn't just buy supplies — it gave children dignity, comfort, and the chance to thrive each day. Students are verbally and visually requesting it! It provides proprioceptive and vestibular feedback that is essential for regulation and engagement. \r\n\r\nThe most preferred way to use the box is by jumping on top of the Lycra layers. Another favorite is hiding inside the box for a quiet, dark area to calm and self-regulate. Many of the teachers, myself included, have even given it a try! \r\n\r\n\r\nThe cuddle box was easy to put together and so convenient to clean.
