Your contribution has made a meaningful, measurable difference in my students' therapy experiences, particularly for those who benefit from structured sensory supports.\r\n\r\nWith your funding, we were able to obtain a range of sensory tools—including adaptive seating options, fidgets, sensory lights, and sensory pillows—that directly support students' regulation, focus, and emotional well‑being. These items have allowed us to create more responsive, inclusive learning environments where students feel safe, supported, and ready to engage, both in their classrooms as well as in therapy sessions.\r\n\r\nAdaptive seating has enabled students to move while remaining engaged in learning tasks. Many students who previously struggled to maintain seated attention have shown improved participation and longer periods of sustained focus. Especially during tasks that are particularly challenging for them, such as writing.\r\n\r\nFidgets and handheld sensory tools have provided appropriate outlets for sensory‑seeking behaviors. Students are better able to self‑regulate without disrupting instructional time, which has contributed to improved classroom/therapy routines and increased academic engagement.\r\n\r\nThe sensory lights provides calming through visual and auditory input and allows students to reset and refocus when they are feeling overwhelmed by the ongoing challenges they face every day in school.\r\n\r\nThe sensory pillows allow students to feel safe and help them get regulated when the work of school becomes too much. \r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our students now have access to tools that support their sensory needs in ways that were previously not possible. For many of them, these supports are not simply helpful—they are essential to their success. Families and teachers have shared that students are calmer, more confident, and more engaged both in therapy and in the classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the importance of sensory‑informed education and for investing in the well‑being of our students. Your support has created meaningful opportunities for growth, independence, and joy in learning. We are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1762969419976,"projectUrl":"project/from-sensation-to-success-tools-for-tra/9649264/","projectTitle":"From Sensation to Success: Tools for Transformative Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Maronie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9776230_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y66&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756405041716","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9776230"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46867","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":427,"numTeachers":47,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":11,"percentBlack":20,"percentWhite":37,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":23,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"9.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":46867,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Blanton Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Blanton Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/pinellas-county-schools/blanton-elementary-school/46867"}
