Instead of groups of 4 with only half the class doing them at a time, we were able to do groups of 2-3 with the whole class working on them. The students love using these kits and they learn coding basics which will help them for years to come in this increasingly technological world. They were constantly asking for updates when I saw them in the hallways and they would gather around to look every time they came to my room. Since I only see each class once per week, I initially carried the caterpillars around to the students to make sure they were seeing the growth because they grow quickly. A few classes were able to participate in releasing the butterflies. \r\n\r\nI was excited to hear that several students have since gotten caterpillars kits to do at home after we released ours. Some classes built caterpillars and butterflies in class to further make that connection.
