I had the studentsmake posters to hang in the hallways using the markers. They took very good care of them being responsible and making the poster very colorful. \r\nThe next project we used the markers for was a foldable in science on weather and climate. The students drew weather pictures and described how each weather tool monitors the weather. Students made foldables with the markers on different standards.\r\nWe are still using the markers. I make sure the students are taking very good care of them so we have them for the rest of the year even if I have to use my teacher voice sometimes.","fullyFundedDate":1754904156448,"projectUrl":"project/markers-for-super-science-projects/9565060/","projectTitle":"Markers for Super Science Projects","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Selznick","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10051453"},{"teacherId":6132260,"projectId":9442828,"letterContent":"They say it takes a village to raise a child—but it also takes a generous village to glaze a pot. Thanks to you, our ceramics class has been dipping, brushing, and beaming with joy as students watched their clay creations transform from humble lumps to glossy works of art. Your donation of glaze didn't just cover our projects—it covered our classroom in creativity, pride, and a whole lot of color.\r\n\r\nBefore your support, our pieces looked a bit like artifacts waiting for discovery—earthy, raw, and unfinished. But with your help, each sculpture, bowl, and mug now shines with personality and purpose. Glaze turned their \"what is it?\" into \"wow, you made that?\"\r\n\r\nYou didn't just give us supplies—you gave our students something powerful: the experience of transformation. There's a special kind of wonder when a young artist sees their glazed piece emerge from the kiln for the first time—shimmering, vibrant, and unmistakably theirs. It's more than art—it's confidence, expression, and the joy of making something meaningful.\r\n\r\nSo, from the students who proudly carry home their shiny, slightly wobbly mugs, to the teacher who's grateful every single day—you have our heartfelt thanks. The board games have allowed the students to look at reading through a new lens. \r\nIn a class where their majority of kids are three or more grade levels behind seeing them light up and engaged with an activity that requires them to use their vocabulary and decoding skills is is no pun intended game changing. My students now are asking me, when can they pull out the Domino's or the bingo or the other games in which they have to use inferencing skills their context clues in vocabulary in order to improve. They're eager to learn they're doing their activities so that they can get these games on Friday so it's a win-win for me. These resources are often taken for granted in many schools, but for my students , they are essential in fostering active learning, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
