The large packs of construction paper have already become a daily part of our lessons, whether we are making graphic organizers, creating hands-on vocabulary cards, or designing art projects connected to our reading themes. One special moment was watching my students build their own \"Feelings Flipbooks\" using the brightly colored paper. They were so proud of their work, and the extra-large sheets made it easy for them to cut, fold, and express themselves in a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nThe laminator has also made a huge difference in our classroom. With it, I can now create durable visual supports, behavior tools, and individualized learning materials that will last all year. My students were amazed to watch their projects go through the laminator. Many of them thought it was \"magic\" to see their work come out shiny and protected. These laminated tools help them stay organized, follow routines, and use visual supports independently.\r\n\r\nOur next steps involve building long-lasting learning centers, classroom visuals, and reusable task cards that will support students across subjects. Your donations have not only added color and excitement to our room but have also given my students the tools they need to learn with confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for making such a meaningful impact on our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1763638324047,"projectUrl":"project/lets-laminate-learning/9897137/","projectTitle":"Let’s Laminate Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Halie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9580559_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1719890731280","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9580559"},{"teacherId":9580559,"projectId":9909697,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students now have the snacks and supplies they need to stay focused, energized, and ready to learn each day. The variety of snacks from yogurt melts and puffs to chips, pudding cups, and mac and cheese has allowed us to create a comforting, welcoming environment where students can take meaningful snack breaks during long lessons. These breaks help regulate emotions, improve attention, and support positive behavior throughout the day.\r\n\r\nThe plates and cutlery have already been put to great use during small celebrations and incentive activities. One of my favorite moments was watching my students' excitement as they helped set up our class snack station for the first time. They felt so grown-up, responsible, and proud to help prepare a space that we will use daily. Their faces lit up when they saw all the choices available to them some students even cheered!\r\n\r\nWe are now able to incorporate snack breaks into academic lessons as a motivator and a chance to practice social and communication skills. Students are learning to make choices, clean up after themselves, and share materials responsibly. Our next step is to continue building these routines to support independence, teamwork, and a sense of classroom community.\r\n\r\nYour support has truly made our classroom a more comfortable, joyful, and student-centered space. When my students first saw the Scholastic News magazines and Osmo games, their faces lit up with excitement—they couldn't believe these fun and interactive materials were just for them!\r\n\r\nWe've been using the Scholastic News and Science Spin magazines during our weekly reading groups to build nonfiction reading skills and spark class discussions. The Osmo Reading and Pizza Co. games have become a class favorite during literacy and math centers, helping students strengthen their reading comprehension and money skills in a fun, interactive way. We also used the Dino Eggs Dig Kit and magnetic bingo chips during our recent science unit on fossils and magnetism, and the kids had an absolute blast while learning. It's been amazing to watch their curiosity and engagement grow.\r\n\r\nNext, we're diving into a cross-curricular STEM project that blends science, math, and art. The paint brushes, laminating pouches, storage organizers, and even the Velcro tape have helped us stay organized and creative. From laminated student work to neat bins full of materials, everything now has a place—and a purpose. It felt like Christmas morning in our classroom!\r\n\r\nWe've already put many of the materials to great use. The construction paper and markers were a huge hit during a recent art-integrated writing project where students created storybook pages to go with their personal narratives. The laminated covers we made with the thermal pouches made the kids feel like real authors! Our new storage bins and paper organizer have helped keep materials accessible and tidy, which is making transitions smoother and helping students become more independent. The cleaning supplies—especially the Clorox wipes—have kept our learning space fresh and healthy, which I truly appreciate.\r\n\r\nNext up, we're diving into a collaborative science project, and the supplies you provided will continue to play a big role. Having reliable ink, tape, and glue means we can print, build, and display student work with ease. We have an amazing music teacher, Mr. Jasper, our school's Teacher of the Year, who uses the instruments with the entire school on a weekly basis. The new bookshelf has made such a difference in how we organize our supplies, and it's truly transformed our classroom closet into a space that's both neat and functional. Before, our supplies were scattered and hard to access, but now everything is sorted and easy to find. This has saved us time during class transitions and has allowed students to independently grab what they need without interrupting the flow of our lessons.\r\n\r\nThe device holder has been another game-changer for our classroom. It's given us a dedicated space to keep our tablets and devices secure, organized, and easily accessible. Students can now quickly grab their devices when needed, which makes digital learning so much smoother. During a recent project where students used tablets to research and create digital presentations, the new resources allowed them to focus more on their work rather than on finding or managing their devices. The organization has really improved our ability to work efficiently.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, they were so excited! Their faces lit up as they noticed the bookshelf neatly holding books and supplies, and they were thrilled to be able to find what they needed easily. It's these small changes that make a big difference in their learning experience. The new organization has allowed us to dive into projects without distractions, and we're already seeing the students take ownership of their work in a way that's been inspiring. Your kindness is transforming our space into a haven for learning, creativity, and growth. Working with ESE high school students, many of whom have autism, learning disabilities, or processing challenges, requires a unique environment that fosters engagement and comfort. With your support, our classroom is becoming a vibrant and organized space that is both functional and inspiring—a place where every student feels welcomed, supported, and valued.\r\n\r\nA colorful and thoughtfully arranged classroom has an incredible impact on my students. The calming effect of soft blues, the energizing inspiration of yellows, and the visual clarity of organized spaces make a world of difference. For students with autism, a visually structured room reduces anxiety and helps them process their surroundings more effectively. For those with learning or processing difficulties, engaging visuals paired with an orderly setup make information easier to absorb and retain. Your contribution is not just helping us create a classroom; it's helping us build a learning sanctuary tailored to the needs of exceptional learners.\r\n\r\nYour generosity doesn't only touch the lives of my students—it fuels my passion as their teacher.
