Using the universal indicator, students were able to visualize the processes of photosynthesis and respiration in real time. By observing color changes in the indicator, they could see how plants absorb carbon dioxide during photosynthesis—raising the pH—and release it during respiration—lowering the pH. This vivid, visual representation helped them connect abstract chemical processes to something tangible and exciting right before their eyes.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the air quality monitor allowed students to track and record local air conditions, gathering data on particulate matter and carbon dioxide levels around our school and nearby green spaces. They compared this information with soil and water quality measurements they collected from their ongoing environmental monitoring project. By combining all three data sets, students designed experiments to test how different environmental factors—air purity, soil nutrients, and water conditions—affect plant growth and health.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for this donation, which not only enriched our science curriculum but also empowered our students to think like researchers. These tools helped them make meaningful connections between environmental conditions and plant life, fostering curiosity, collaboration, and a deeper appreciation for the role humans play in shaping the ecosystems around us.","fullyFundedDate":1753903526137,"projectUrl":"project/unite-eco-explorers-with-essential-scien/9219415/","projectTitle":"Unite Eco-Explorers With Essential Science Supplies!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Manahan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8166416_orig.jpg?crop=1064,1064,x0,y88&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743434145929","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8166416"},{"teacherId":9206933,"projectId":8891993,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom has become a creative space where learning and innovation go hand in hand. The Cricut Maker 3 and Cricut Joy have already made a huge impact—especially during a recent literature project on Hamlet.\r\n\r\nWhen the Cricut machines were first set up, my students couldn't believe their eyes. \"We can actually use these?!\" one student asked, completely in awe. There was immediate excitement as they started brainstorming ideas, and it didn't take long before the Cricut was humming with activity.\r\n\r\nFor our unit on Shakespeare's Hamlet, students used the Cricut to design and print vinyl labels and visuals representing the five-act plot structure. Each act had its own custom label—color-coded, creatively styled, and adorned with symbols or quotes from key scenes. Students loved being able to visualize the rising action, climax, and resolution in such an interactive way. It wasn't just engaging—it helped them better understand the complex structure of the play.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this possible. Because of you, my students aren't just learning—they're creating, collaborating, and loving every minute of it!","fullyFundedDate":1733281872133,"projectUrl":"project/storycraft-visualizing-literature-with/8891993/","projectTitle":"StoryCraft: Visualizing Literature with Cricut Creations","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Psyche","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9206933_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1713386070931","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9206933"},{"teacherId":9206933,"projectId":8888620,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous donation, our classroom has seen an incredible shift in student engagement and motivation. With the new resources, we've been able to incorporate healthy snacks and rewards into our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) system, providing an extra boost of encouragement for students who consistently demonstrate positive behavior.\r\n\r\nOne specific moment that stands out was when I introduced the snack cart for the first time. My students' faces lit up with excitement as they realized they could choose from a variety of healthy snacks for their positive behavior. The excitement was palpable as they eagerly picked out their rewards and discussed which snack they would choose next time. This simple yet effective addition to our classroom has not only fueled their bodies but also reinforced the importance of making good choices.\r\n\r\nThe new resources have made a lasting impact on our classroom dynamic. The students are more focused and motivated, knowing that their hard work and positive actions will be acknowledged with a rewarding experience. It has also fostered a sense of responsibility, as students are beginning to take ownership of their behavior and strive to set good examples for their peers.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are excited to continue using the snacks as part of ongoing classroom projects and lessons. For example, I plan to integrate the rewards into upcoming group activities, where students will be working on team-based assignments. They'll earn points that can be redeemed for snacks, reinforcing the idea of working together, staying on task, and exhibiting teamwork.\r\n\r\nYour support has truly made a difference, and we can't wait to share even more progress as we continue to build positive habits in our classroom.
