My student look forward to our STEM days as they get to express themselves in a more creative way than they are used to, and it allows them to have the chance to be kids while still learning the essential.\r\nMy students were the most excited about the books that we were able to add into our classroom library, that gave them the ability to have more story time with realistic fiction, that again tie in our science and ELA curriculum in a more engaging way.\r\nOur next STEM activity is going to be making individual tornados in a bottle, as we are going to be in the middle of our weather conditions unit in science. Receiving this donation made desk clutter non existent as students were able to store their books and texts inside the bins. They have settled into the classroom morning routine and know exactly where to find, store and organize their belongings such as text book, headphones, magnifying classes for close reading and folders. I had student helpers aid in creating the numbers and laminating them for each bin. This is such an effective in keeping or classroom organized. We have not gotten to play an official game of kickball yet, but we enjoy kicking it around the field. My students have had MANY jump rope competitions already, and it has built so many relationships amongst my students and students in other classes. They are still dying to see me jump rope, so I may have to join them this week before we go on Christmas break.\r\nMy students have had so much joy in being able to have time to actually be a kid and not be stuck in the classroom learning all day. They have asked that I get them some board games next, that way they can earn fun time inside the classroom once their assignments are turned in and they are all caught up for the week. \r\nThank you for bringing many smiles and new opportunities to my second graders and for allowing me to see a whole new side of the students that I might not have been able to see if I wasn't able to get this equipment.
