The large carpet has become the heart of our classroom, where we gather for read-alouds, literacy lessons, and meaningful discussions about the books we are reading. Students were so excited when they first saw the new space, and it immediately created a warm and welcoming environment where everyone has a comfortable place to learn together. The rotating bookshelf has been especially exciting because students love seeing the books displayed and discovering new titles they may not have chosen otherwise.\r\nWe are using our reading area every day for independent reading, book exploration, and conversations about literature. The bookstore-style display has encouraged students to pick up books, explore different genres, and share recommendations with their classmates. It has been wonderful to watch students become excited about choosing their next book and spending time in a space designed especially to support their love of reading.\r\nAs we continue through the school year, students will use these resources to explore new authors and genres, participate in book discussions, and build their confidence as readers. Our classroom reading space is helping us create a community of readers where students feel comfortable, curious, and excited to learn. In February we celebrated Black History Month by having the students write essays about a prominent person of color. The students were able to write the essays and print them in real-time. We got to edit their work in real-time as well. It was extremely helpful to immediately print the documents. This added another dimension to the learning experience for the students and me. In short, to be able to give them immediate feedback was awesome!! \r\n\r\nThanks again for your generosity.
