My 18 pre-students and I were so excited to receive their new learning toys. They especially loved the people connectors and the farm animals. I have been working in small groups with non-speaking English students to teach them valuable communication and language skills to help them be successful in their schooling and everyday life. The soft farm animals provided the perfect way for them to practice these skills in a fun and engaging way. The people connectors proved challenging at the start, but with practice and perseverance they gradually learned to use their fine motor skills to connect the pieces. A task that seems simple to us but a vital skill for any 4 year old. Many instantly recognized Hello Kitty and eagerly jumped into the activities. The bracelets and stickers were a huge hit, and students proudly shared their creations with friends and staff. It was especially heartwarming to see older students helping younger ones, creating a sense of teamwork and kindness within the club.\r\n\r\nNext, students will use the donated Hello Kitty notepads to write thank-you cards to our school staff, helping them practice gratitude and written expression. For our final meeting, we will celebrate with games using the donated bows, and students will have the opportunity to win donated prizes.
