I love how my 6th graders approach each day with curiosity, humor, and determination. They are eager to explore new ideas, tackle challenges, and support each other along the way.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, we now have the essential supplies—glue sticks for hands-on projects, pencils for capturing their thoughts, and poster boards and markers for adding creativity. These tools will help my students stay organized, express themselves, and engage deeply in their learning. With the right resources, they can focus on building skills, collaborating with classmates, and creating work they are proud to share.\r\n\r\nYour generosity makes a real difference. Students have loved grabbing a book and relaxing in the new chairs as they wait for classmates to get books. They have also become a great conversational spot for students before school opens each morning. The transformation these four chairs have made in our space goes beyond this simple thank you, but we do truly \"Thank YOU!\" for making this happen. \r\n\r\nWhen I first started in this position, students could be heard complaining that he space was uncomfortable. With the majority of the furniture available to students being the traditional plastic chairs, students were not keen to sit and stay a while. Now it's a rush to find a good book quickly so they can enjoy the comfy seating. Our rule is the comfy seats are for active readers only, and these seats are indicting them to increase their active reading. Students at our school track there reading by logging minutes. At this time we are almost a 1 million minutes read this year! Making the space an inviting place to come a read has helped us foster that goal.
