Since its introduction, the 3D printer has transformed the media center into a space of creativity, innovation, and authentic learning, empowering students to become active creators rather than passive consumers of information.\r\n\r\nThe 3D printer has provided our scholars with hands-on opportunities to explore concepts in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics in a way that is both engaging and developmentally appropriate. Students are able to design, problem-solve, and revise their ideas, learning firsthand that mistakes are part of the learning process. This experience has strengthened critical thinking, perseverance, and collaboration—skills that are essential for success in both academics and life.\r\nAccess to 3D printing has also increased student engagement and motivation. Scholars are eager to visit the media center, ask questions, and take ownership of their learning.","fullyFundedDate":1759842713963,"projectUrl":"project/3d-printing-for-young-minds/9687190/","projectTitle":"3d Printing for Young Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Weinstein","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3583344_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1620307123550","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3583344"},{"teacherId":2976158,"projectId":9728338,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom. Your donation means more than you know. Having access to snacks during the day helps my students remain focused, regulated, and ready to learn. For many of them, a simple snack makes a tremendous difference in their ability to stay engaged and participate meaningfully throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, your support in providing sensory items is truly invaluable. Due to the nature of their disabilities, many of my students struggle with self-regulation and can become easily overstimulated. The sensory tools you've helped fund will give them appropriate outlets to calm their bodies, manage their emotions, and stay connected to learning. These resources will not only enhance their daily experience but also empower them to build the self-regulation skills they need for long-term success.\r\n\r\nThank you, your generosity is making a real difference.","fullyFundedDate":1758452364143,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-ad-sensory-items/9728338/","projectTitle":"Snacks ad Sensory Items","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jackson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2976158_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1533405420617","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/nichole-jackson"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_45355","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":451,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":83,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":57.4,"schoolId":45355,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Westwood Heights Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Westwood Heights Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/broward-county-public-schools/westwood-heights-elementary-school/45355"}
