The materials from this project have already given my students more opportunities to participate, practice important skills, and learn in ways that match their individual needs. The headphones allow students to work independently with fewer distractions, while the dry-erase boards and markers provide an easy way for them to practice writing, problem-solving, and classroom activities without the pressure of making mistakes on paper. The tracing boards also give students additional opportunities to strengthen their writing and fine-motor skills through hands-on practice.\r\n\r\nThe spinning prize wheel and squeeze balls have added an exciting element to our classroom reward system. My students enjoy working toward positive rewards, and these materials help make appropriate behavior, participation, and completing classroom tasks more motivating. The voice recorder is another valuable tool that supports communication, reflection, and learning activities. Seeing my students become excited to use these new materials, participate more willingly, and celebrate their accomplishments has been incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our classroom is not simply receiving supplies—we are gaining tools that help our students become more independent, confident, and ready for their future. We will continue using these resources for daily academic practice, communication activities, sensory and regulation breaks, and positive reinforcement. With the donation of 3D printer filament we are able to rapidly produce prototypes, reiterate, and make successful designs. These may be for our competition robots or even fun and creative projects. Students had created the design using Adobe Illustrator, then printing it to vinyl. We transferred the vinyl prints to a silk screen frame. Next us was a messy job and blue silk screening ink was everywhere. Students had a lot of fun learning the process and left the lab covered in ink. After the drying process, jerseys were distributed to every teammate. Quickly they were parading around the lab showing up their new creation. This project helps students build a sense of pride and community.
