Due to your generous donation, we received the items needed for our ASD binders. The binders include their IEP which is an individualized educational plan, goal tracking sheets to monitor IEP goals, home-notes for parent-teacher communication, quarterly assessments, and work samples. This is vital information about the student as it helps keeps the teacher be organized and informed for each student. These students are extremely talented and gifted with such creativity that I am excited to see what the future holds for them. With all of their hard work and dedication I wanted to provide them with an experience unlike anything they've experience. Bringing a Fashion Shopping Spree to them was a dream that became a reality with help from DonorsChoose and others. The contents: sunglasses, makeup bags, totes, jewelry, lip gloss, jackets, etc., were all displayed like a department store, where they were able to shop and select what they wanted from the make ship store with just a smile.\r\n After receiving the items, my team and I worked on designing and personalizing the items for the students in our fashion club. We wanted to celebrate them so much that it didn't bother us with the amount of time and effort that was required to complete this project. When the students saw the store displayed in our class they were overwhelmed with excitement and joy. Students received an experience that was memorable. Kindness is a trait that I desire that all my students will embrace and share with others. My students and I were excited to unpackage the boxes that came in to our school and to get started on our project. The Kindness Committee started off with a group of five 5th grade students and expanded to over fifty students that were motivated and excited to participate in spreading kindness on campus.\r\n Students took the lead in creating goodie bags for the birthday of students all over campus. Students created a birthday list visiting every class, receiving the classroom roster with birthdays, including the teachers. Students created a calendar and spreadsheet with the days that bags needed to be completed and the classes and students that they needed to be delivered too. It was a well oiled machine. I custom made vests for the students that identified who they were when moving around campus. Everyone was greeted with a wonderful message once they saw this group on campus.
