The activities and resources provided have really been so helpful in many ways. Students fine motor skills are improving. Their engagement has increased. They are learning and practicing in a way that they enjoy in new ways. We are able to use them in whole group, small groups, and during independent practice.\r\n\r\nThe pencil grippers and fine motor tasks have strengthened their skills, especially with handwriting. They love to use the tweezers, lacing, buckles, and other tasks. Students are growing while \"playing.\" We use the tweezers to have them count bears or form letters and numbers with pom poms. The math resources that we have incorporated are a hit. Students want to go for the frog activitiy first. But we are using it to help them compare numbers of objects and numbers. This has helped them identify which groups are greater than, less than, or equal and why. The magnetic ten frames were great in small group for comparing groups. Students can use them independently, too. I am eager to use the other resources as the topics are covered during the year. The literacy activities of building CVC words and sorting pictures by beginning sounds has also been great. They love the mirrors to help with sound articulation and the letter and sound activity.\r\n\r\nStudents are improving these skills because they are more engaged and focused on the task. You have helped us improve various skills in class through fun and engaging resources that we didn't have before. This ensures that they will be MVP learners and more propared for the next level. Students have made such progress during their Kindergarten year. They have learned and mastered so many skills in Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. The book you provided allows them to continue practice and sharpening those skills, as well as work on new skills to help prepare them for their next school year in 1st grade. Students can build upon what they know instead of regressing. The saying is true that if you don't use it, you lose it. You allowed my students to use their knowledge and ability and not lose it during what is known as the summer slide. Many students don't have resources for them to practice and build upon what they learned during the school year. When they return in the fall, they have forgotten some of those skills and strategies. Those students have to spend time relearning instead of using the time towards learning the new concepts.\r\n\r\nAs well, my students and their parents reported that they found the book fun and engaging. What a better way to have a child continue to learn through fun. They find themselves wanting to do the work. It is not a \"chore\" to the student or their parent. The students love the timer! I have one specific student whose job is to set it each day. He is the tiniest in our class, but he figured out how to reach the board to set the timer. He gets a chair, stands on it, and does it all by himself.\r\n\r\nDuring small group time, I'll tell the kids that the timer is about to be set for 20 minutes. That student will look at me—he has a slight speech disability—and he'll say, \"20 minutes?\" I say yes, and then he gets the chair and sets the timer. It melts my heart every time.\r\n\r\nI have several students with IEPs, and part of their support involves help with transitions.
