The students did so well with the seasons activity, and they really enjoyed working together to complete it. They also love playing with the U.S. map puzzle—it's one of their go-to activities during indoor recess. One student loved it so much that she asked her mom to get her one for her own enjoyment. I use the laminating sheets to laminate the hundred charts and the awards they receive. They know that if they're thirsty, they can go to the refrigerator to get a drink. One day, after a field trip, we talked about all the fun they had while enjoying a snack and a drink. It was the icing on the cake after a great day, especially when they got to choose their favorite snack. The students get excited when I give them a fruit snack for earning an A on their test. My next step is to continue finding ways to make the students happy. Snacks are an important part of my daily reward system, and the students always look forward to earning one.","fullyFundedDate":1758303325819,"projectUrl":"project/providing-basic-essentials-for-children/9635781/","projectTitle":"Providing basic essentials for children","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Auguste","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/auguste"},{"teacherId":10112518,"projectId":9634882,"letterContent":"Thank you for donating to this project. The students love the timer! I have one specific student whose job is to set it each day. He is the tiniest in our class, but he figured out how to reach the board to set the timer. He gets a chair, stands on it, and does it all by himself.\r\n\r\nDuring small group time, I'll tell the kids that the timer is about to be set for 20 minutes. That student will look at me—he has a slight speech disability—and he'll say, \"20 minutes?\" I say yes, and then he gets the chair and sets the timer. It melts my heart every time.\r\n\r\nI have several students with IEPs, and part of their support involves help with transitions. This timer definitely helps them.","fullyFundedDate":1758231591804,"projectUrl":"project/daily-essentials/9634882/","projectTitle":"Daily Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Auguste","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/auguste"},{"teacherId":683306,"projectId":9666739,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation for my students. The activities provided have increased their focus, excitement, and learning. My Kindergarteners love to use their new learning tools, especially during independent time. They are on task more and successful with each activity.\r\n\r\nMy little learners were so excited to see their new learning tools. They find the activities to be fun like toys. While they are \"playing\", they are also learning. Since they are more engaged and on task, they are building their knowledge and skill set quicker. I am seeing improvement in letter knowledge, as well as making, reading, and writing words. Students are having more fun making sentences with the flipcharts and mystery boxes they can now use. \r\n\r\nI love that these activities can be used while students work independently. But we use them in our small groups, too. These learning tools provide various ways for students to engage with literacy concepts, while keeping their interest and love for learning. Donors like you keep the fun in education. They provide teachers with new, engaging tools to reach all kinds of learners of all backgrounds and abilities. Having these types of learning tools helps build and maintain a child's love of learning. Thank you again for your kindness and support of education and the children that benefit from your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1758231603927,"projectUrl":"project/fun-engaging-and-relevant-literacy-lea/9666739/","projectTitle":"Fun, Engaging, and Relevant Literacy Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wesley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/683306"},{"teacherId":10112518,"projectId":9538140,"letterContent":"I want to once again express my heartfelt gratitude for funding my first project. My students and I truly appreciate your generosity and support. I'd love to share how each item you helped fund is making a real difference in our classroom.\r\nWe've been putting our new resources to great use, creating engaging, organized, and joyful learning experiences every day!\r\n\r\nThe CLAX® Collapsible Cart has been a game-changer for daily routines. We use it every day to transport students' lunchboxes, snacks, and water bottles to the cafeteria. It's made transitions smoother and has saved valuable prep time, allowing us to focus more on learning and less on logistics.\r\n\r\nOur Premium Beanbag Seat has quickly become a beloved addition to our reading corner. Students take turns earning \"beanbag reading time\" during our literacy block. It's created a calm, cozy space that encourages independent reading and provides a sensory-friendly spot for students who need it most.\r\n\r\nThe \"What's the Rhyme? Sorting Houses\" activity has been added to our literacy centers and has been a hit with the students. They love sorting the picture tiles into the correct rhyming houses, and it's been a fantastic hands-on tool for building phonological awareness. The students especially enjoyed this activity when we had a substitute teaching assistant in the classroom—it was a great way to keep them engaged!\r\n\r\nAnd of course, the snack supply has been a favorite! The Skittles, Kool-Aid Jammers, Nabisco Sweet Treats, Ritz Bits, and Fun Shapes Variety Packs are being used during snack time. I'm a firm believer in ending the day by fellowshipping with my students, and sharing snacks has helped build our classroom community. The Skittles are also doubling as manipulative for math—they've been especially helpful when practicing how to add up to 10 in a fun and colorful way!\r\n\r\nOverall, these new resources have truly contributed to a more dynamic, student-centered classroom—and the kids are loving every minute of it. Thank you for being a part of their learning journey!","fullyFundedDate":1755710555109,"projectUrl":"project/our-happy-place/9538140/","projectTitle":"Our Happy Place","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Auguste","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/auguste"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_45184","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":294,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":55,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"8.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":64.4,"schoolId":45184,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bennett Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bennett Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/broward-county-public-schools/bennett-elementary-school/45184"}
