During one on one lessons and during PE class, we use jingle bell balls to build auditory localization and purposeful travel skills as students listen, plan routes, and adjust their movements in response to sound. We've also incorporated the Marbleworks marble run to support mental mapping, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving as students build pathways and predict how the marble will move through the maze.\r\n\r\nMy students were immediately excited to use new equipment. They were eager to explore the different textures, sounds, and movement opportunities—especially the spinning chair and bell balls. Students who are often hesitant to try new motor activities were noticeably more engaged and confident, recognizing that these tools were designed to support their sensory and movement needs.\r\n\r\nMy students will build strength, balance, and body awareness using the tumbling mat and sensory tools, then apply those skills to more structured orientation and mobility activities. Marble maze lessons will become increasingly complex and will connect directly to real-world navigation, helping students transfer classroom learning into confident, independent movement at school and beyond.\r\n\r\nThank you to our donors for your generosity and support. Your contributions gave our students access to tools that make learning more engaging, accessible, and empowering. Because of you, students with visual impairments are developing critical skills that support independence, confidence, and lifelong mobility.","fullyFundedDate":1764691577116,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-connection/9897980/","projectTitle":"Sensory Connection","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Caroline","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10266917"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_44769","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":174,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":18,"percentWhite":61,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":"6.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":42.1,"schoolId":44769,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about M.K.
