With the hands-on manipulatives provided through this project, phonics instruction has become both engaging and meaningful. Students who once struggled to participate now eagerly gather their materials and become active learners. The tools have encouraged language growth, curiosity, and confidence — and most importantly, sparked a genuine love for learning.\r\n\r\nOur students now look forward to UFLI time every day, and their excitement is contagious. One of their absolute favorite tools is the \"sound phone,\" which allows them to hear their own voices as they practice letter sounds and blend words. Watching them proudly sound out letters and words while smiling into their sound phones has been a remarkable reminder of how powerful these resources truly are. These manipulatives have helped turn phonics time into a moment of success and joy.\r\n\r\nThanks to this project, students are not just practicing phonics — they are discovering their voices, celebrating progress, and building the foundation for lifelong literacy. Your support has turned learning into an experience they look forward to, and for our Autism Cluster classroom, that is truly transformative. With the basic supplies provided, students have been able to participate in everyday tasks such as handwriting sheets, coloring pages, and fine motor cutting activities—tasks that build foundational academic and motor skills. Because our school is Title 1 and many families struggle to provide materials, these supplies have allowed every student to take part equally without worry or limitation. The impact on their confidence, independence, and participation was immediate and noticeable.\r\n\r\nBeyond daily work, the extra craft materials opened the door to creativity, joy, and social-emotional learning in meaningful ways. We've been able to incorporate fun, hands-on projects that still support academic and fine motor development. One special activity that truly stood out was making friendship bracelets. Students practiced threading, focus, pattern-making, and careful finger movement—but even more importantly, they strengthened friendships, learned to share supplies, and showed kindness by gifting their bracelets to classmates. This project was a beautiful reminder that a few simple supplies can make a big difference—academically, socially, and emotionally.\r\n\r\nYour support has made our classroom a place where learning is accessible, creativity is encouraged, and community is built one small activity at a time. With the arrival of these much-needed items, our Kindergarten/First Grade Autism Cluster classroom has been transformed into a warm and welcoming space where students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. After such a difficult year of transition and loss, these resources have helped restore a sense of stability and joy for both students and staff.\r\n\r\nIn addition to rebuilding the classroom environment, the donated supplies have allowed us to directly support students' individual education plans. Materials can now be used to create customized communication systems, print visual supports, and design structured learning tools that align with each child's unique needs. Donor contributions have also made it possible to establish at-home daily communication binders, giving families a stronger connection to the classroom and helping students maintain consistency between school and home.\r\n\r\nBecause of this generosity, our students now have the tools they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
