They really enjoy the reading skill partner games as well. \r\n\r\nThe reading skills partner games give my students opportunities to practice newly learned phonics skills and to develop new ones all with the Science of Reading in mind. My students love working both independently and with partners with these materials. They have been practicing reading and spelling words, practicing reading and spelling fluency, and building strong vocabulary skills. My goals for this project were to give students hands-on supplies to build their knowledge of phonics and spelling patterns, handwriting skills, and fluent reading practice with comprehension. They are also able to work independently at their own pace and without fear of getting something wrong with the self-checking aspect of most of these games. Not to mention, they are fun! \r\n\r\nThe magnetic whiteboards and markers work great across all subject areas. We use the lined side for spelling practice. The products were used in both small group and 1-1 tutoring sessions.\r\n\r\nThe Junior Learning Rainbow Phonics Tiles were a wonderful addition to the students' literacy learning. During our sessions, we used the tiles to practice decoding words by sounding out each sound and blending them together. Additionally, when given a word, students used the tiles to spell out the words. This was a great hands-on approach to decoding and encoding. The students were very excited to use them and were so proud when they were successful with these skills.\r\n\r\nThe Learning Resources Soft Foam Phonics Cubes were a huge success! The students loved the \"game\" approach to learning and working with phonics. I was able to pick out the cubes that worked specifically on the sounds for our lessons. Students (and I) rolled the cubes when it was our turn and created new words. This was a huge success and students wanted to \"play\" with the cubes each session.\r\n\r\nThe Tactile letters were a great resource to use with my kindergarten MLL students. Some students are struggling with forming the letters and matching the letter name to the image. The tactile approach was beneficial to those students. Because it was a novel approach for them, it was fun too!\r\n\r\nI cannot express our gratitude enough.
