You will notice in the picture that many of the books have already been given out to students to Reed over Thanksgiving break. However, the idea is that every unit there are special books that I can encourage students to read. The students were very excited to help open the books. My room is now visually more appealing and feels more like an ELA room.\r\n\r\nA big part of this project was connecting with students and showing them that I was making a concerted effort to find books that they would enjoy and value. This has greatly started to make the curriculum even more accessible and rewarding. This allows for more smooth operations during out events, and no down-time which could affect their scores or impact their placement. \r\n\r\nNext our incredible and portable LED lights allow students to take Zoom calls or Google Meet Video Chats, and properly light their faces for a more professional experience, and professional presentation. These lights can also be used for interviews and photography related applications. \r\n\r\nLastly, our most diverse piece of technology you have provided is the Canon SLR camera, which gives students an arsenal of tools at their disposal. Not only can students capture incredibly high fidelity photos, but they can also use this camera to record high definition videos and use them for their events. This camera is state of the art and provides students with industry standard technology that they would typically use in the working world, giving them realistic expectations for what they would actually be using in this profession.\r\n\r\n\r\nOur Photography students couldn't be happier with this amazing opportunity, as most of them do not have access to this technology at home. Our videography students can also take full advantage of this for their documentaries and interviews. On top of this, our visual design team, presentation team, and stock market teams can all utilize not only the LED lights, but also the presentation clickers for these events. \r\n\r\n\r\nThis funding provided by Donors Choose is truly a game-changer for our BPA chapter, and will establish a solid foundation for us as we move forward with our competitions. Your contribution, along with the support from the Delaware General Assembly, is making an incredible difference in the lives of our students and their ability to engage with and learn from the texts we study. Thanks to your kindness and commitment to improving literacy in Delaware's public schools, we have been able to acquire essential tools that enhance the learning experience for all of our students.\r\nWith your gift, we were able to purchase a variety of annotation supplies, grammar manipulatives, and much-needed technology, such as a projector, document camera, and a personal laminator. These tools have already begun to make a tangible impact in our classroom. The annotation supplies help our students engage more deeply with the texts they are reading, allowing them to make connections, ask questions, and note important details as they explore complex ideas. The grammar manipulatives are helping to make abstract concepts more concrete, allowing students to see and manipulate grammar rules in a hands-on way. Most importantly, the new technology is enhancing the accessibility of the content we study, giving students the ability to interact with material in a dynamic and visual format that supports diverse learning styles.\r\nYour donation is not just an investment in classroom materials; it is an investment in the future of our students. The equipment and supplies you provided are helping to bridge the gap in resources, particularly for students who may not otherwise have access to these tools. The projector and document camera allow for seamless integration of multimedia and collaborative learning activities, while the laminator ensures that our materials are durable and can be reused throughout the year. These tools are not just enhancing instruction—they are fostering a learning environment where students feel empowered to take ownership of their education.\r\nIn Delaware, we understand the importance of fostering literacy skills at an early age, and your support is helping to ensure that our students are equipped with the tools they need to succeed. By providing resources that make learning both engaging and accessible, you are helping to create a classroom where every student can thrive, regardless of their background or individual learning needs. Your generosity allows us to provide a richer, more supportive learning environment, one where students are excited to explore literature and critical thinking in new and meaningful ways.\r\nOnce again, thank you for your tremendous support. Your commitment to improving literacy and educational opportunities in Delaware is truly appreciated. I look forward to seeing the continued growth of our students as a direct result of your generosity. Please know that your donation is making a lasting difference in the lives of these young learners, and we are so grateful for your partnership in this work.","fullyFundedDate":1760305884974,"projectUrl":"project/word-work-in-7th-grade/9815810/","projectTitle":"Word Work in 7th Grade!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pudlo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8373108_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760396575352","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8373108"},{"teacherId":9747351,"projectId":8776728,"letterContent":"I want to extend my deepest gratitude to you for your generous donations, which provided clear bookbags, pencil pouches, notebooks, and binders for my middle school students. Your kindness has made a real difference in my students' lives.\r\n\r\nMany of my students face challenges that go beyond the classroom, and having the right supplies is often one of them. Thanks to your support, they can now walk into school each day feeling prepared, confident, and cared for. These materials are more than just school supplies — they are tools that help build hope, responsibility, and pride in their education. Carrying a backpack filled with supplies like everyone else has helped students feel included. They aren't singled out by not having materials, which can otherwise lead to feelings of isolation.\r\n\r\nThe donation has also helped lift a huge burden off the school counselors who work with these students. When counselors have access to donated bookbags, binders, notebooks, and pencil pouches, it means we can quickly and discreetly meet students' needs without scrambling for resources or having to personally fund supplies out of our own pockets, which is often the case. It has lifted the emotional burden of seeing students struggle with basic necessities and has given us immediate tools to support them effectively. Knowing we have supplies on hand has allowed us to focus more fully on our primary role — providing emotional, academic, and social support — rather than worrying about how to patch together material needs. The donations have also strengthened our ability to build trust with students and families, because we can respond to their challenges with real, tangible help. Overall, these gifts have made our work more sustainable, impactful, and emotionally manageable, which ultimately has benefited the entire school community.\r\n\r\nYour generosity reminds us all that a strong community can have a lasting impact on a child's future.
