The translation tools allow English language learners to read instructions, research information, and participate in discussions with greater confidence. During a recent project, students researched famous landmarks from around the world, taking notes on their history and features using translated resources. They then wrote short descriptions and created labeled floor plans to match their LEGO builds. This hands-on approach helped strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills while making learning exciting and inclusive for all learners.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reactions were full of excitement and curiosity. Many were eager to try the translation devices and amazed at how quickly they could understand information in their preferred language. Others were thrilled to explore the LEGO sets and immediately began brainstorming ideas for their builds. The combination of technology and creative learning made students feel empowered, especially those who previously struggled to express their ideas through reading and writing.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using these resources for a world architecture literacy project. They will research new structures, summarize key information, and write reflections about their designs. Students will also collaborate in small groups to create stories based on their LEGO creations, strengthening both oral and written communication. These tools are helping my classroom become a place where literacy, creativity, and confidence grow together every day.","fullyFundedDate":1760734807709,"projectUrl":"project/constructing-literacy-from-words-to-wor/9829947/","projectTitle":"Constructing Literacy: From Words to Worlds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Buehler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8990347_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1683754320996","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8990347"},{"teacherId":10324212,"projectId":9848192,"letterContent":"These resources have made an immediate impact on the day-to-day of what we accomplish here in our classroom. I now have a full supply of labeled chargers and outlet extenders for my students' benefit - access to our technology is no longer a barrier to student learning. We have used the markers and easel paper to revamp and update our classroom agreements for display. The textured sensory stickers have been a big hit with students as well. Many get excited to choose their favorite animal or food as a reward for good work. The headphones also are a huge upgrade from the dated, mostly broken pairs that we had access to. We have already used them in class on multiple listening and speaking activities. Students were thrilled to record themselves with headphones that were easy to use and comfortable. The fan and air purifier have made a huge difference to the overall airflow and air quality in our room. This is the first year since I started teaching that I haven't gotten the flu in the fall!\r\n\r\nThe students were just as excited as I was when the boxes started coming in. This initiative made a huge buzz all across the school and even the district. These tools have already begun to transform the way my students engage with their lessons. The precision of the digital pen has opened up a world of creativity, allowing students to add detailed illustrations and hand-drawn diagrams to their digital assignments. This has been especially impactful for my visual learners, who can now express their understanding of complex concepts through art and design in a way that wasn't possible before.\r\n\r\nBeyond digital artistry, the iPad has become a vital hub for our multimedia projects. We have been using it to film student presentations and short educational videos, which has significantly boosted their confidence and public speaking skills. The earphones have also been a game-changer, allowing students to focus on editing their audio and video projects or engage in personalized learning apps without distracting their peers. Thank you for providing us with the technology to turn our classroom into a modern, creative studio; your kindness is truly making a difference in these students' education.","fullyFundedDate":1760900011020,"projectUrl":"project/help-me-improve-my-digital-literary-less/9841656/","projectTitle":"Help Me Improve My Digital Literary Lessons, With Better Technology","teacherDisplayName":"Maestro Profe","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10317354"},{"teacherId":10317251,"projectId":9841342,"letterContent":"I have already had the opportunity to use many of the items from my recent project. We also shared some of these items with the special ed case manager who is sharing them out as his students complete their career surveys.\r\n\r\nWe will host and plan events throughout the year and our donors choose items will be a wonderful addition to add thoughtful touches for our students.
