They students use the white boards to write down thoughts, sound out words, and compare words with similar vowel teams. It allows them to make a rough draft before writing it on paper and having to erase or cross out.\r\n They variety of books allows for all the students to have plenty of options for things they like. I got a few Who Would Win books and students who are reluctant to read many of our class books pick these up all the time and really dive in and want to read aloud with me and then share the information they learned with their classmates. I love that they are now the expert and get to share things with their friends and I don't have to have all the answers.\r\n I have a lot of boys who are in to a variety of sports so the books I got on their favorite players have been passed around. Messi has been the most loved book and they all find different facts to share when they read it. The animal books allow for the students to extend their science lessons and look into more migration patters, and compare life cycles of different species.\r\nThank you so much for making sure we have enough books for everyone to really love to read!","fullyFundedDate":1760795030399,"projectUrl":"project/books-for-all/9833926/","projectTitle":"Books for All!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pavlik","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3721213"},{"teacherId":10312135,"projectId":9829014,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my third-grade students now have access to Spanish-language books in our classroom, something that was previously unavailable. In a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program, these books are essential for helping students build vocabulary, improve reading comprehension, and grow as confident bilingual readers. The new texts introduce key literacy skills such as fluency, decoding, and understanding fiction and nonfiction in Spanish. Reading in our classroom has become more engaging and meaningful. During literacy time, students independently choose books that interest them and match their reading levels. Students are now excited to explore stories, recognize familiar words, and share what they are learning with their peers. These books help students feel proud of their progress and motivated to keep reading.\r\n\r\nIn addition to reading, the Spanish writing workbooks support grammar and sentence development, while hands-on tools like Pop-Its make math lessons more interactive and accessible. Indoor recess games also support students' social and emotional growth. Overall, these resources have helped create a supportive, language-rich classroom where students feel engaged, confident, and excited to learn every day.","fullyFundedDate":1760661519892,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-spanish-library-for-third-gra/9829014/","projectTitle":"Building a Spanish Library for Third Graders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. MARTIN","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10312135"},{"teacherId":10327168,"projectId":9853231,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredible generosity in funding our classroom project! Many of them rushed to explore the books, proudly finding stories at their reading level and in topics that interested them. For some of my multilingual learners, this was the first time they felt truly confident choosing a book on their own. We now use these resources daily during small-group instruction, guided reading, and independent practice. The leveled texts and language-support tools allow me to meet students where they are and give them the extra scaffolding they need to succeed.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful moments came during a recent reading lesson when a student who had previously struggled to read aloud volunteered to share a page with the class. With the support of the new materials, they were able to decode the words, understand the meaning, and speak with confidence. Moments like this remind me how powerful the right resources can be for building both skills and self-esteem.\r\n\r\nNext, we will continue strengthening comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency through targeted small-group instruction and literacy centers. Students will use these resources to practice reading strategies, discuss texts, and build their confidence as readers and language learners. Thanks to your generosity, my students now have the tools they need to grow—and they are so proud of the progress they're making. Our new rolling cart has turned into a mini library, and it's amazing to see students proudly recommending books to each other.\r\n\r\nThe pastel rainbow rug has become our favorite spot in the classroom. We sit there for read-alouds and small-group lessons, and it makes our reading time feel warm and welcoming. The timer helps everyone stay focused during literacy centers, and the scented pencils, bookmarks, and fidgets have been great motivators for reaching reading goals.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was seeing a student who used to avoid reading finish a Dog Man book and immediately ask for another one.
