The magic writing boards are a fun activity for the little ones to work in pre-writing skills and develop a love for writing. \r\n\r\nWhen I showed my students the materials for the first time, they cheered with excitement. Since introducing the materials, these literacy centers are always the first ones to fill up first. My students come from many different backgrounds and many different needs. One way we have found to build language and literacy skills is with retelling props to use during and after a read aloud story. Just this week we used the \"5 Little Pumpkin\" felt set to act out the story and get all students involved. \r\nWe also use the alphabet sound tubs to practice the initial sound of the words but also build language through labeling. By producing a weekly craft my students are writing, painting, cutting, gluing, and coloring all in one activity. We use these crafts to help them learn their letters and to get them talking about the holidays. Just this week we painted coffee filters to make umbrellas for letter U.\r\n\r\nMy students get so excited to paint and many had never seen paint before they started school. The stools that we received are greatly appreciated. Now our students will not need to move the stools from the bathroom to the sinks in order to wash their hand and also use the bathroom. They are now able to use the bathroom safely. We were able to put stools in all of our bathrooms at our school at the sinks as well as the urinals and toilets. This was a huge cleanliness problem and these stools helped eliminate the problem.
