Several went straight for the bean bag chairs, and others asked if they could try the floor seats during independent or group work. These additions immediately changed the atmosphere of the room, giving students a place that feels comfortable and calming during a busy school day. They've quickly become the spots students choose when they need to focus, reset, or work together.\r\n\r\nWe've used the flexible seating during a variety of activities: group discussions, small project work, and occasional reading time when we're working through scientific case studies or articles. One moment that really stood out was during a hands-on investigation when a group of students settled into the floor seats to plan their approach and talk through their ideas. The relaxed environment helped them communicate more openly and stay engaged.\r\n\r\nAs we move into our next unit, these spaces will continue to support collaboration, creativity, and moments when students need a quieter area to think or read. The new seating has already made a noticeable difference in how students feel in the classroom, and I'm grateful for the impact it's having each day.","fullyFundedDate":1760315879445,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-furniture-for-science-literacy/9818915/","projectTitle":"Flexible Furniture for Science Literacy","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Wetherby","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7648894_orig.jpg?crop=2560,2560,x0,y85&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1683333335890","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7648894"},{"teacherId":10090664,"projectId":9494203,"letterContent":"The impact these interactive notebook resources have had on the ownership of student learning in my classroom is AMAZING! Thanks to your donation, our students have the opportunity to design, build, and test model homes that are both weather-resistant and energy-efficient.\r\n\r\nThis hands-on project allows students to apply scientific principles in a meaningful way, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork. They are currently experimenting with different materials so they may test their structures against simulated weather conditions, and they are gaining a deeper understanding of energy efficiency in home design. The excitement and engagement in our classroom is truly inspiring, and none of this would have been possible without your generosity.\r\n\r\nYour support not only provided materials but also created an enriching learning experience that will leave a lasting impact on our students.
