They were overjoyed to see that they had new, clean boards to write their spelling words on and try out new math strategies. They started cheering, and I explained to them how generous donors decided to gift us with these materials. We then discussed how we can show our gratitude by taking care of them. \r\n\r\nThe students have been able to use them day in and day out in the classroom, and I have enjoyed having enough materials to go around. The students write dictation sentences on our boards, and have their peers correct their spelling or punctuation using a different colored dry erase marker. \r\n\r\nWhen learning about finding the areas of shapes, we were able to use the white boards with grid lines. I'm very thankful to have those special boards, to reduce having to print out so many sheets of grid paper. Seeing them being able to easily find out the length and width by counting the square units on the grid made me so happy, as I've been trying to do things more hands on instead of only using the workbook.\r\n\r\nAgain, all 22 of my students along with myself are so thankful for your donations. I have been able to increase engagement as they rush to take the boards out each time I give instructions to do so.
