I was able to set up my classroom with the new furniture before school started and my students are enjoying the variety of seating options. Some of them choose a comfy chair and location for both my lesson and independent work while others choose a more traditional seating option to complete their independent work.\r\n\r\nI also have students coming to my space for lunch as an alternative to the loud cafeteria, and this provides a space to relax and get ready for the rest of their day after they have eaten. The impact of your donation is reaching beyond just the instructional experience my students get in my class!\r\n\r\nMy goal is to continue promoting self-awareness and self-acceptance and to help my students realize that their unique needs, strengths, and desires as students and learners are valued. Cardinals , finches, grey tufted titmouse and junco's hung out through the winter. It is now spring and the plants are coming back and so are the birds! This summer, the summer school children will be maintaining the pollinator garden and bird feeders. I will update with more pictures once things are in full bloom! This project has fostered curiosity in students and allowed them to practice scientific skills such as collecting data, graphing and learning about the eco system. Your donation has made it possible for me to create that experience for my students.\r\n\r\nWe also have a room without windows so this rotating seasonal art piece that looks like a window really adds an element of comfort and coziness to our room.
