Students enjoy cozying up on the rug during read-alouds while I sit in the rocking chair! One of our favorite stories we have read together this year has been \"Have You Filled a Bucket Today?\" This adorable story teaches students an important lesson about kindness, empathy, and respect. My students absolutely love their new comfy reading spaces and shelving. The classroom now has space for a large and diverse classroom library to be shelved and organized. This benefits all students to be able to have a wide range of literature to choose to read weekly during their book shopping time. The donations have made our classroom more colorful and rich with text. \r\n\r\n It has been amazing to be able to house my entire classroom library in one room versus having it in storage due to inadequate storage space in my new classroom. Whenever a new bookshelf arrived, the students cheered because they knew that soon brand new books to them would fill the shelves. The shelving has organized our classroom and made everything easier and more accessible. I personally have seen some reluctant readers reach for books as opposed to not being interested at all. Now that they can see the wide range of literature, there is something for everyone. Also, the cozy carpets have made their reading and learning spaces even better. What could be better than a nice soft carpet to sit on while escaping to the imaginative world of Mo Willems or learning about important women for Women's History Month? \r\n\r\n Thank you so much for your truly impactful and phenomenal donations.
