The triangle pencils help students properly hold a pencil during these first few months of school. Many students in my class have never held a writing utensil before and proper grip helps with letter formation, illustrating, and preventing fatigue. Students adore their new crayons, which are also used daily for various reading, writing, math, and science activities. The storage boxes that you graciously donated are now student tool boxes and contain all of the supplies that they need throughout the day. The folders are sent to and from school daily with students carrying essential notes and papers that students are proud to show off. Since they are plastic, they will last the entire year. The dry erase markers and erasers are probably our most used item. We use these instead of wasting paper! Many students benefit from having a quiet space to focus, especially during independent reading, writing, or testing. The headphones help block out distractions, allowing them to concentrate on their work and build confidence in their learning. At the kidney table, new stools have made a big difference in keeping small groups engaged. Students feel more comfortable during lessons, which helps them stay focused and eager to participate. Magnetic tiles have also become a favorite, students use them during math and STEM activities to explore problem-solving, and teamwork in fun, hands on ways.\r\n\r\nWhat excites the students most about these items is how they make learning feel special. The headphones give students who need quiet, a tool that feels just for them, and they love the sense of calm it creates. The stools make small group time feel inviting and important, so students are excited to come work together. One particular student who struggles with attention has really connected with the headphones, using them daily to find focus. Others who sometimes hesitate to join group activities are now more motivated to come to the table and share ideas, especially when they get to build with the tiles. These tools have truly supported both independence and collaboration in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1733250257181,"projectUrl":"project/focused-learning-new-stools-and-noise-c/8912447/","projectTitle":"Focused Learning: New Stools and Noise-Canceling Headphones for Our Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Heyse","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9564796_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1718133097334","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9564796"},{"teacherId":9106251,"projectId":9203583,"letterContent":"My class was so appreciative of the engaging math tools and activities that were donated to them this year! We were incredibly excited to get this project funded, as it promotes kindness across our school. These labels read, \"One School, One Kind Book- Provided by Maple Street School Student Council- 2024-2025\". \r\n\r\nWe, as a Student Council, then typed discussion questions, printed them, and put them inside the books. We then delivered them to each classroom in our school. We hope to see these on classroom bookshelves for years to come. \r\n\r\nOver the past few weeks, we have gotten a lot of positive feedback.
