The blue sensory sand has helped a child regulate himself when he is upset. He can be found using it every time he comes in. The next steps for my students to use the sensory materials is to use the sand and cars during our wheels unit! The children will use the cars in the sand to create tracks. The children really enjoyed a matching book and Pete The Cat I love My White Shoes. The children enjoyed Pete the cat so much I used it to assist in our clothing unit lesson. \r\n I am using the resources you sent me such as the bins to organize my books by theme. These books have also helped me fill and rotate books out for the children in our library. For our clothing unit we used the book Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes. The children enjoyed reading the book all together. Some children were reading it by themselves learning to point to the words and turn the pages. I also created an activity of what happens in the story for children to do during centers to go with the book. \r\n Next steps for the books is to continue to rotate the books in the library to relate it to the theme we are doing. Our next unit of study is Wheels, I look forward to using on of the books, the title is Things that Go. This will help my students learn about wheels and I can create a language activity with it.","fullyFundedDate":1735689484735,"projectUrl":"project/a-diverse-array-of-books-for-my-classroo/8780677/","projectTitle":"A Diverse Array of Books for My Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bartram","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9749190_orig.jpg?crop=374,374,x0,y120&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734482149184","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9749190"},{"teacherId":9749190,"projectId":8780934,"letterContent":"When the children saw the new materials they were very excited and surprised. By catering to children with various sensory challenges, the table creates an inclusive space where visual, tactile, and auditory senses are stimulated, fostering interactive play and creativity. This hands-on approach not only improves fine motor skills but also enhances problem-solving abilities, providing children with an opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive and enriching atmosphere.\r\n\r\nBeyond its role in classroom activities, the sensory table will also serve as a valuable tool for individualized therapy sessions. It offers a calming and controlled space for children who may experience sensory overload or anxiety, helping them to self-regulate and build coping mechanisms. Through this adaptive learning environment, children are empowered to engage in self-exploration and cooperative play, improving both social interaction and emotional resilience.\r\n\r\nUltimately, this sensory table will be a cornerstone in promoting both emotional and cognitive development, allowing all children, regardless of their sensory needs, to thrive in an inclusive, nurturing classroom setting.","fullyFundedDate":1737759194809,"projectUrl":"project/a-sensory-table-is-a-must/9042954/","projectTitle":"A Sensory Table Is a Must!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9890236"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_120988","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":52,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":12,"percentWhite":25,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":50,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":71.4,"schoolId":120988,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about APPLES Early Childhood Educational Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"APPLES Early Childhood Educational Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/connecticut/stamford-public-schools/apples-early-childhood-educational-center/120988"}
