Because of your donation, my students now have access to valuable tools that help them regulate their emotions, build social skills, and feel more comfortable in their learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe rebounder has been a game-changer for many students, especially those who struggle with anxiety and focus. The opportunity to take a movement break has allowed them to release pent-up energy and return to class with renewed concentration. One student recently told me, \"Bouncing helps me feel calm, and then I can pay attention better.\" Moments like these reinforce how important it is for students to have safe, healthy outlets to manage their emotions.\r\n\r\nThe anxiety stickers have been an unexpected favorite! Their colorful and decorative designs make them fun to use, but most importantly, they serve as a visual reminder of mindful breathing and self-regulation techniques. Students proudly display them on their binders and water bottles, using them as a discreet yet powerful tool to ground themselves when they start feeling overwhelmed.\r\n\r\nThe games have been another highlight, particularly during lunch groups, where students come together to build friendships and practice social skills in a low-pressure setting. These games have also served as a motivating reward for students working toward their SEL goals. Watching students laugh, engage, and support each other through play has been heartwarming.\r\n\r\nThe workbooks have been instrumental in strengthening our SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) groups. With their help, my department has successfully facilitated one full round of Tier 2 interventions across all three grades, reaching 12 different groups of students. Each group, consisting of 4-6 students, has benefited from the structured activities and strategies within these materials. Additionally, these resources have been incredibly helpful in my 1:1 work with students, particularly two individuals who experience severe anxiety. With the support of the anxiety workbook, both students have already reported a noticeable decrease in their anxiety levels, which is a tremendous success in such a short period. The work we have done in our sessions has carried over into the classroom where they are more active participants in their learning and engaging in whole class discussions. \r\nYour generosity has had a direct and meaningful impact on the well-being of our students. Thanks to you, they have the resources they need to develop crucial coping skills, build confidence, and create positive social connections. I truly appreciate your support in making a difference in their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1727197140191,"projectUrl":"project/mental-health-management-to-help-student/8716298/","projectTitle":"Mental Health Management to Help Students Be Successful","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kozik","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9714657"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_43772","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1221,"numTeachers":90,"percentFrplEligible":18,"percentAsian":34,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":44,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":84.6,"schoolId":43772,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Timothy Edwards Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Timothy Edwards Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/connecticut/south-windsor-public-school-district/timothy-edwards-middle-school/43772"}
