Because of your support, our students were able to learn more about coding using the Ozobots and Coding Mice. \r\n\r\nThe 3-5 grade students enjoyed using the markers to create codes that the little Ozobot robots were able to follow. It taught them about the precision necessary when coding, but also gave them a chance to create creative mazes for the Ozobots to follow. It was extremely engaging and fun for the kids. \r\n\r\nThe Coding Mice were used by K -2 graders to get a deeper understanding of directional coding. They created a path out of green squares and then programed the mouse to follow the path. They had to think about how many steps and in what direction the mouse needed to go to get to the end of the path. They had such a great time working together.","fullyFundedDate":1764776237337,"projectUrl":"project/creative-coding-for-kids/9890420/","projectTitle":"Creative Coding for Kids","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Neiger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9457569_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764806476213","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9457569"},{"teacherId":9459705,"projectId":9809356,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our \"Cultivating Empathy Through Identity & Discovery\" grant. Because of you, my students were able to move beyond textbooks and truly le their creativity shine by designing cultural museum exhibits that honored their own stories while celebrating the identities of others. Your belief in this project told my students that their voices, backgrounds, and experiences matter, and that message is powerful.\r\n\r\nThe impact on my students was profound. As they explored their identities and learned about their peers, I watched empathy grow in real time—through thoughtful conversations, curiosity, careful research, and genuine pride in sharing who they are and learning about others. This project didn't just teach academic skills—it built understanding, compassion, and connection. My students are proud of their work. Thank you for helping create an experience that will stay with my students long after the exhibits came down. They immediately wanted to start building and began imagining what their backpacks could become. Your generosity transformed our classroom into a space where creativity meets engineering. We used your donated resources to bring the engineering process to life. Students sketched blueprints, tested and built prototypes, creating logos and infomercials to market their backpack designs. One of my favorite moments was watching students huddle around a prototypes showcasing their final products, while others gave them positive feedback on what they loved and made suggestions for future improvements to consider. It was learning at its best!\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just provide materials, you fueled confidence, teamwork, and joy. You brought the engineering process beyond reading about it to really applying it. You made learning extraordinary for my students and for that I truly thank you. Our next steps include refining the prototypes based on testing and preparing final presentations where students will pitch their designs just like real engineers. Thank you for believing in my students and helping them dream big this year. They are learning, growing, and creating because of you. Thanks for opening their eyes to engineering. I think you may have inspired some future engineers.","fullyFundedDate":1758224052247,"projectUrl":"project/backpack-builders-designing-for-the-fu/9666653/","projectTitle":"\"Backpack Builders: Designing for the Future\"","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rios & the Llama Learning Lab","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9459705_orig.jpg?crop=481,481,x0,y150&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756592040534","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9459705"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_43518","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":410,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":66,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":46,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":87.9,"schoolId":43518,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cranbury Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cranbury Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/connecticut/norwalk-public-schools/cranbury-elementary-school/43518"}
