The assignment was for students to create an anchor chart for various classroom expectations that they would want to see in a classroom! It was so nice to have the materials needed for students to create! They discussed different classroom environments around our school, what made an anchor chart appealing, and decided what specifically needed to be on each chart for each expectation. Listening to students analyze different visuals and expectations and discussion why they were effective and how to communicate to students was so inspiring this early in the year! \r\nAnother activity the post-it notes allowed students to engage in was a quote carousel. Students visited eight different quotes around the room and responded to one of four prompts using a post-it to leave behind at each quote. As they rotated, they were able to read and respond to one another in writing, see other perspectives and ideas and questions, and create new ideas and thinking about the purpose of education. This was absolutely one of my favorite activities I've ever done and as silly as it sounds, the post-its were the game changer.\r\nThank you so much for your kindness and support towards the students in my classroom. We couldn't be more grateful and I am excited to keep using these materials throughout the rest of the year!","fullyFundedDate":1787590449745,"projectUrl":"project/learning-today-preparing-to-teach-tomorr/10487435/","projectTitle":"Learning Today preparing to Teach Tomorrow!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Arzamarski","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2257411_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1487792418761","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-arzamarski"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_44170","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1187,"numTeachers":49,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":40,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":5,"gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"24.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":57.0,"schoolId":44170,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Nlhs Multi Magnet Campus on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Nlhs Multi Magnet Campus","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/connecticut/new-london-public-school-district/new-london-high-school/44170"}
