In Spanish class, students thrive in a calm, comfortable environment with opportunities for creative engagement. My goal is that by providing artistic and interactive activities that connect with our language and cultural learning objectives, students will have improved student mental health and increased engagement in class. This supports our district initiative of supporting student wellness.\r\n\r\nThe flexible seating options provides all students, including students with sensory/attention challenges, with more comfortable ways to engage in class. By adding 2 additional chairs, students will be able to be seated in a small group setting.\r\n\r\nMy students are special because they each bring their own interests and skills to the class, and they are excited to come to Spanish class because of the additional opportunities you are providing.\r\n\r\nWith these items, we are helping support students' mental health and social emotional wellness in Spanish class. Students are using strategy-based games to develop essential entrepreneurial skills like critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving. Through these donated games, students simulate real-world business scenarios where they have to manage resources, take calculated risks, and adapt to unexpected challenges. This gamified approach has turned learning into a hands-on experience, helping students understand concepts like investments, cash flow, and competition in a fun and interactive way.\r\n\r\nThe use of board games has also fostered a sense of excitement and collaboration in the classroom. Students are fully immersed in the learning process as they compete, negotiate, and strategize with their peers, creating a lively and cooperative environment. It's incredible to see them engage with the material in such a creative way, applying entrepreneurial principles while having fun. The games not only bring the lessons to life but also inspire students to think innovatively, which is exactly the mindset we aim to cultivate in future entrepreneurs.","fullyFundedDate":1726585286231,"projectUrl":"project/entrepreneurship-board-games/8507358/","projectTitle":"Entrepreneurship Board Games","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Donahue","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4127663_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1550677950134","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4127663"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_43676","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1737,"numTeachers":150,"percentFrplEligible":14,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":64,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":89.5,"schoolId":43676,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Glastonbury High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Glastonbury High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/connecticut/glastonbury-public-schools/glastonbury-high-school/43676"}
