I'm genuinely grateful for your generosity and for thinking of my students. Because of you, my 4-year-olds now have access to materials that are already being used daily and loved in ways I couldn't have predicted.\r\n\r\nWhen the boxes arrived, the kids knew immediately that something special was happening. As I started opening them, they crowded around, asking questions and trying to peek inside. When they saw the alphabet robots, there was no holding back — kids were jumping up and down, clapping, and shouting out letters they recognized. That level of excitement carried straight into our literacy centers, where the robots have quickly become a favorite. Students build letters and simple words together, help each other find sounds, and proudly show off what they've made.\r\n\r\nThe art supplies were a huge hit from day one. During our first art time, kids slowed down, focused, and really took their time exploring the materials. I saw students helping each other open containers, sharing ideas, and explaining their artwork in ways that felt thoughtful and confident. For many of them, having high-quality art supplies feels new and special, and it shows in how carefully they treat the materials and how proud they are of what they create. Art time has become one of the calmest and most joyful parts of our day.\r\n\r\nThese materials are already woven into our daily routine and have added so much energy, creativity, and connection to our classroom. Thank you for making that possible. Your support shows up in small moments all day long — in excited voices, focused play, teamwork, and pride in learning. I truly appreciate your kindness and belief in my students.","fullyFundedDate":1768752998730,"projectUrl":"project/little-hands-big-ideas-stem-art-for/10037253/","projectTitle":"Little Hands, Big Ideas: STEM & Art for Preschoolers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Otte","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4513148_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1509824633664","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4513148"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41269","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":204,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":81,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":63.0,"schoolId":41269,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sherrelwood Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sherrelwood Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/westminster-public-schools/sherrelwood-elementary-school/41269"}
