These materials have been used across multiple classes and have helped students explain their thinking, work together, and see mathematics in new ways.\r\n\r\nOne especially memorable project was \"Life on Exponential Island,\" where students used the large foam dice to randomize data and create different exponential situations. The dice added excitement and unpredictability to the activity, and students were eager to compare their results and discuss how small changes could affect exponential growth. In Algebra 2, students also used the 11×17 paper extensively to create personal math posters, especially during our unit on multiple representations of quadratic functions. Having the larger paper gave them space to organize graphs, equations, tables, and written explanations in a clear and creative way.\r\n\r\nThe sticky easel paper has become one of our most frequently used classroom resources. Students at all levels use it nearly every week to present their thinking during group work. It has helped make student reasoning visible and has encouraged students to explain, defend, and revise their ideas together. Your generosity has given my students more opportunities to participate actively, take pride in their work, and build confidence as mathematicians. Thank you for making these meaningful classroom experiences possible.","fullyFundedDate":1757513864626,"projectUrl":"project/math-in-action-hands-on-learning-with-g/9616090/","projectTitle":"Math in Action: Hands-On Learning with Games & Projects","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jackson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9296553"},{"teacherId":9224879,"projectId":10132974,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for thinking of my students, school, clubs, and sports. We've been using the board games during our Academic Support time to build skills like problem solving, communication, and teamwork. One of my favorite moments was watching a group of students who don't usually work together fully engaged in a game, encouraging each other and celebrating small wins. It created a natural way for them to practice patience and critical thinking without it feeling like work, which is something many of my students really need.\r\n\r\nWhen the games first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students were asking to open them right away, and there was a buzz in the room that I don't always see during a typical class period. Even students who can be hesitant to participate were eager to join in. It gave them a chance to feel successful and connected, and I've already noticed that carrying over into other parts of our classroom.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, I plan to keep using the games in more structured ways, like rotating through stations that focus on strategy, math thinking, and social skills. I also want students to start reflecting on their gameplay by thinking about what worked, how they communicated, and how they handled challenges. Your support has given my students more than just games. It has given them a space to grow, connect, and actually enjoy learning.","fullyFundedDate":1777388169851,"projectUrl":"project/game-on-building-minds-and-friendships/10000531/","projectTitle":"Game On!
