Having books that are engaging and cover the wide spectrum of student interests is so important for capturing the students attention and imaginations.\r\nWhen we have books that students are excited to hear and have read to them it creates a magical experience. In a classroom of 24 chattering, social first graders hearing a book read aloud can be one of the few things that truly captures their attention. A hush falls over the class as they scoot closer and closer. They lean forward. They say things like \"can we please one more chapter\" or \"will you read it again\".
