When I first introduced the sand writing trays, my students were so excited that they jumped out of their seats asking, \"Do we get to use those?\" Their motivation to learn writing, spelling, and reading has skyrocketed, and every day they eagerly ask if we will be using the sand trays again. I never have a student who does NOT participate in practicing their phonics skills when we are using the sand trays. It has been a joy to see their enthusiasm and engagement in class!\r\n\r\nThe moment my students saw the new materials being unwrapped, their faces lit up with excitement. In our classroom, we haven't had much \"new material,\" so this made a significant impact. With the highest reading scores in our school, I truly believe the engagement and enthusiasm from these supplies play a huge role in our success. The excitement in the classroom as they dive into hands-on learning is truly remarkable! The phonemic awareness activities with the wands and magnetic chips are blending sounds beautifully, while the CVC word game, Word Pop, is making learning so much fun. My higher groups are thoroughly enjoying the phonics games with the translucent spinners and the sand trays for practicing spelling patterns.
