The progress is slow and steady but my special education students are exhibiting better understanding of phonics, spelling rules, and also expanding their vocabulary! Other teachers will often send students my way when they have a student who doesn't want to read. \r\nIncreasing reading has a direct impact on student engagement in the classroom, and can directly impact students academic outcomes. I'm so thrilled that students are able to find books that interest them in both English and Spanish in my classroom.
